A big cheer from the crowd on the New Yokozuna in red kimono
Kisenosato(the ring name of the sumo wrestler) became the grand champion called Yokozuna after the New Year tournament this year as a Japanese wrestler for the first time in 19 years. Other three Yokozuna of all four are born in Mongol. He came to Mito city in Ibaraki prefecture for a ceremonial occasion today(on June 11th). The world of somo has become international, in which some wrestlers' hometowns are Asian countries or western countries. Most Japanese were waiting for appearance of Japanese Yokozuna. By the way, Mito city in Ibaraki prefecture has a wonderful Japanese style garden named Kairakuen which is famous for the plum blossom festival from the middle February through March.
