The Ladder of Success consisting of 86 steps with an inclination of fourty degrees
Mt. Atago is located in the center of Tokyo, or the business district and 26 meters high. Atago Shrine was founded in the early 17th century during the Edo period(1603-1867). Its main approach with the steep stairs is called Syusse no Ishidan in Japanese which literally means stone stairs to success. The word, Syusse is usually used in talking as the representation of ascending higher corporate positions. In this picture, one office worker is going up the miraculous stairs. There are some interesting stories about this stairs. Anyway, after you climb the top of the stairs and pray to the god, you feel a sense of achievement. Do you want to visit this shrine?
