A typical commemorative photo spot in the background of Double Bridge, entrance to the Imperial Palace
In the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, I was told by travelers from overseas several times how he or she should go to the Imperial Palace. No wonder they thought they could go to the Imperial Palace because they were in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. One old man got a little irritated, saying that there came gardens and again gardens around him though he was looking for the Imperial Palace. I told him we could not go to the Imperial Palace and that ordinary citizens are allowed to cross the entrance bridges or Double Bridge only twice a year. He said to me thank you and went away. Two opportunities which we can enter the ground of the Imperial Palace are Emperor's birthday, on December 23rd and on January 2nd. I put up each photo taken from each bridge on January 2nd, 2016. If you were in Tokyo on these days, shall we go to the Imperial Palace? Why don't you join me?
