Cormorant fishing has long been carried out as a traditional method of catching fish, mainly sweet fish. The most famous fishing ground is Nagaragawa River in Gifu prefecture. There are many things to talk about the cormorant fishing. Focusing on wild cormorants, those living in Shinobazu Pond in Ueno Park are thriving, though this habitat is in the center of metropolis. It is only one example in the world that cormorants live wild in such a big city. Today(on June 10th), I spotted one(the picture above). He or she seems to be satisfied with the environment.
