Peace Statue
On April 20 I picked up 25 people from Celebrity Millennium to Nagasaki tour. Nagasaki is now internationally known as the city destroyed by the atomic bomb after Hiroshima.
The "Peace statue" was built in Ngasakai Peace Park in 1995 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Atomic Bombing to appeal for lasting world peace.
Near the statue you see "the Tower of Paper Crane" and the "Bell of Nagasaki."
Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum
The present museum was open in April 1996 as a part of the 50th anniversary projects for the Nagasaki Atomic Bombing.
This is a replica of the part of the wall remaining on the southern side of the ruins of Urakami Cathedral.
You see a string of one thousand paper cranes.
Scenic spots
Two arches are reflected on the river . That image can be seen a pair of spectacles , so it is called "Spectacles bridge."
One-legged Torii miraculously remains standing after the Atomic Bomb was dropped.
Glover house was built in 1853. It is the oldest existning colonial-style building in Japan.
