Saiki city , which has the largest area in Kyushu, is blessed with the nature of the sea, mountains and rivers.
The city faces “Bunkasuido” which is one of the best fishing area in Japan, and the fish catch of the city accounts for 70% of that of the Oita Prefecture and fresh fish can be eaten.
Saiki is famous for delicious sushi. However other sea foods are also delicious.
There are two main sea food season.
①Iwagaki oyster season in summer (April to August)
② Iseebi lobster season in autumn (September to November ).
