Tokyo Golden Tour

I would like to take you to Sensoji Temple, Tokyo Sky Tree, Imperial Palace and Ginza. Sensoji temple is Tokyo's oldest and largest one with a history dating back to 628. Kaminarimon, or "Thunder Gate," the outer gate of the temple is very famous as a landmark of Asakusa for its huge red lantern. It's colorful Nakamise, shopping arcade associated with Edo Period, is a pededtrian lane leading to the temple and lined with traditional shops and souvenir stands.

Two National Treasures of Inuyama and Castle Town

You might know that there are many castles in Japan. But did you know there had been about 200 castles in Japan in the late 19th century, but there are only 12 castles keeping their original style. Inuyama castle designated as National Treasure is one of them and the oldest castle in the country. I am sure you will enjoy the inside the castle where you can feel the atmosphere of the samurai warriors at the time. We visit the castle after passing through nice red gates of a Shinto shrine. After looking around the historical castle, I would show you around the castle town. There are several museums associated with the castle and the famous festival held once a year which features 13 gorgeously decorated high wheel floats. Visiting them with me will help you build the familiarity with Japan. When it comes to lunch, you can choose your favorite out of my recommendation such as tofu dishes, Japanese style of set meal. After strolling around the castle town, we visit Urakuen. It is a Japanese style garden including several tea houses, one of which is historical tea house called "Joan (national treasure)". You can enjoy the beautiful garden depending on the season, cherry blossom in spring, fresh green in summer, changing beautiful colors of leaves in autumn and snowy view in winter. This place will make you feel calm and relax because the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony exists inside the garden. I would recommend that you have Japanese tea called matcha and Japanese confectionery. I will show you how to drink it based on the certain way of having tea. “We had an Incredible time with Michiko!”

Michiko was our Guide during our time in Nagoya, and she was great providing us an overview of the history of the city and the places we visited (Nagoya Castle, Osu, etc). We also had an amazing traditional lunch with her and spoke more about Japanese life which is one of the key reasons I enjoy meeting with guides wherever I go. She was great with our kids and gave them tons of snacks for the day. As a local Nagoyan resident, she knows the city well, and even helped us get some train tickets afterwards. Highly recommended if you are in Nagoya.
