Echizen is also well known for Japan's handmade crafts including kitchen knives, washi paper, lacquer wares, Tansu chests and pottery. Seeing craftsmen's work right in front of you makes you excited and impressed. “Shirakawa go & Takayama tour”
We had a great time with George. He drove us to beautiful Shirakawa-go and then back to Takayama to look round the old streets with an excellent lunch in between. He was knowledgeable about both and pointed out interesting things about the history of the houses and the way they were built. One of us has mobility problems and he went above and beyond to accommodate them as much as possible, even driving us round the streets to find the best place we could see the festival on the day after. We would highly recommend George

“Enjoyable tour of Mashiko”
Jack picked us up at Utsonimiya and drove us to Mashiko to see the museum and Shoji Hamada’s house and collection. After lunch we visited several ceramics shops. Jack suggested a store that had exactly the kind of work we liked and which I don’t think we would have found otherwise. We had a very enjoyable day and Jack was a knowledgeable and helpful guide.

“Excellent 1 day tour with transport”
This was a great way to get around efficiently to the major temples. We learned alot and felt safe and comfortable in Toshiyo's car. She is very kind and good with our kids. Highly recommended.
