“Informative & Thoughtful”
We had a great morning with Junku. She added some extra stops to our itinerary when we were running ahead of schedule, brought us maps / recourses on the city, offered to take photos at the best places, and booked us a sushi lunch to enjoy once the tour was over. Very knowledgeable guide!
“Dan is AMAZING with kids!!! ”
Dan picked us up from the station with a big smile and 2 bags of Japanese candies and chocolates for my daughters. The labels were all written in Japanese so he explained the different types of flavours. Then he gave my daughters a challenge to keep them busy while he explained about the history of Mt Takao to me. My daughters warmed to him immediately and I felt relief that I had someone to look after my daughters and I could also enjoy the temples of Mt Takao myself. He explained that Mt Takao is a hidden gem and that he is just starting as a tour guide. But it felt like he has been doing this for years. He was just so warm and friendly and knowledgeable about Mt Takao. I highly recommend Dan if you travel to Mt Takao. My only complaint is that we wanted to try the hot springs. Unfortunately, as I have a small tattoo, I would have been denied entry. I feel that policy should be looked at and changed.

(2 reviews)Thank you very much Sarah for your wonderful review! I’m so glad that you enjoyed your tour. Your daughters were so lovely. I’m very sorry about the hot spring rules. I think in my next tours I should explain to my foreign guests the rules beforehand.

“An Amazing, Educational Visit through Seoul's History”
My wife and I had the pleasure of exploring Gyeongbokgung, Bukchon, Gwangjang, N-Seoul Tower, and parts of Insadong with Paul and we had an incredible time! Paul's knowledge of Korean history, specifically the Confucian influence in architecture, government, and, well, all walks of life within both the modern Korean life as well as the Joseon dynasty was amazing context for our traveling. Sure, we could've wandered around Gyeongbokgung palace by ourselves or listened in on some of the wandering tour guides (who Paul was able to correct a few times), but having a private, guided tour around some of Seoul's most beautiful locals was worth the time and money. I'd definitely recommend seeing if Paul can help you enjoy Korea on your next visit!

(7 reviews)The center of culture and center of tour is architecture. Culture is based on spirit of times. Architectural style represents the spirit of times. We can see as much as we know about the spirit of times. Confucianism was the spirit of Joseon Dynasty. Gyeongbokgung represents Confucianism. Without the knowledge about Confucianism, we are not able to fully appreciate authentic value and beauty of Gyeongbokgung. Gyeongbokgung is not only the essence and highlight of palace architecture of Joseon Dynasty, but alos the most beautiful architecture and place in whole Korea.
