We had a wonderful two days in Kyoto with Masaki. He met our group of three - 76, 72, and 37 - At Kyoto station and took us on a fantastic afternoon tour. We went to the Fushimi Inari shrine, then to the Gion district. He himself had experienced a dinner in a geisha establishment, and was able to provide us wonderful information about The history of that culture. When we got tired he knew just where to take us for coffee and refreshment. At the end of the day he took us to a great restaurant for wagyu and Kobe beef – a place we could never have found on our own. The next morning he took us to a beautiful temple where the trees were showing the autumn colors, then to the nearby zen temple, and from there to Nijo Castle. He gave us fascinating information about the history of the sites and used his iPad to show us photos and pictures; he even had prepared a brochure with pictures of the sites on our itinerary. He was completely flexible and accommodating. It was also great that he brought his camera and took many pictures of us at the sites, so we had a number of excellent family photos (he emailed them to us after the tour). We had heard of a Kyoto- specific dish we wanted to try and he took us to a great restaurant, ordered the meal, and showed us how to eat it. We highly recommend Masaki for a tour of the wonderful city of Kyoto!
Dear Molly san, I can't appreciate enough for your kind review. It was great in depth tour especially in the beatiful color of Autumn. It was a great mix of history, culture, nature, city, food, highlights to local, and ... Quilt!! I'm really happy you could spend time in that shop!! As I mentioned, even though we did quite a lot in 2days, there's always more in this ancient capital. I'm sincerely looking forward to seeing you all! Warm Regards, Masaki Makoon Mori
