Hi. My family and I recently spent a week in Tokyo. One of the places we wanted to visit was Mt. Fuji. I considered booking a daytrip before arriving in Tokyo but I understood that the weather was a big factor in being able to see Mt. Fuji and I was not convinced of the accuracy of the weather forecasts 2-3 weeks before the trip. Also, almost all of the day trips to Mt. Fuji required us to meet a tour bus at a location more central than our lodgings, a hotel in Daiba. (None of the tour buses had pick ups at or near our hotel.) Being unfamiliar with the busy Tokyo metro and subway stations, I was hesitant to venture onto public transportation system especially at rush hour. It was cloudy and rainy about half of the time we were in Tokyo but there was one day when the weather near Mt. Fuji was expected to be clear. I contacted Nobu through TripleLights the day before the expected clear day. He was available for the next day and within 6-7 hours had an itinerary planned out for us and had even arranged for a van to pick up and return us to our hotel as well as transport us to all sites in our itinerary. Nobu arrived promptly as scheduled the next morning. He was very friendly, courteous knowledgeable. We had a great trip. We were able to view Mt. Fuji in sunlight up close without any clouds in the sky. Nobu took us to several sites to view Mt. Fuji from different locations and with the sunlight hitting it from different angles. One of the things he included was a delightful little tour boat excursion on a lake near the base of Fuji. Nobu knew that a festival would be taking place in the area and arranged to take us through an amazing festival market of artisans and their beautiful handcrafted offerings. To help with our lunch plans, my son had researched some of the local food specialties. One particular type of local cuisine captured our attention and Nobu was able to get us to a highly-rated little mom and pop type restaurant that featured that type of cuisine. The food was delicious and we were very grateful for the obvious effort on the part of Nobu. All in all, we had a fantastic day. Nobu not only arranged everything with less than a day’s notice but was knowledgeable about the history of Ft. Fuji and the surrounding area, a knowledge which he generously and happily shared with us. If my family returns to Tokyo, we will, without hesitation, contact Nobu again to engage him in other tours he could chaperon for us. We highly recommend Nobu to you.
Thank you very much for your review, Tony. I am glad to know that you and your family were satisfied with the tour to Mt. Fuji. It is not easy to arrange a private van a day before the tour date, but we were lucky enough to find a car. Since I know there was a Momiji Festival at Lake Kawaguchi in November, I wanted you to see the beautiful colored leaves. I chose the local restaurant because they serve delicious local Foods including Hoto noodle. Thank you again for spending your time with me. I am Looking Forward to meeting you and your family again in the future. Nobu
