Kaori S.
Kon-ni-chi-wa. Hello! I'm Kaori, having lived in Tokyo for more than 20 years since I got married to a photographer who lives here. Originally from Shizuoka prefecture which has Mt.Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. I took 2 working-holiday-visa stays in my younger days. One is in Toronto, Canada, and another is Australia touring by motorcycle. One year respectively. I love travel both international and domestic. I myself love travel freely. That's how I love helping individual travelers like you. Love nature, gardens, trekking, greenery, also anime. My favorite is taking you to the off-the-beaten tracks where I love and sharing my seasonal favorites. I'm happy to make tailor-made tours only for you (up to 4 people) upon your request. ・Half Day as you like (up to 4 hours) : 40,000 JPY ・Full Day as you like (up to 8 hours) : 64,000 JPY ・Extra hour over 8hours : 6,000 JPY/hour I often spend multiple days with the same group to accommodate itinerary for multi days by including my seasonal favorites. I often do Mt.Fuji or Hakone tour. In many cases, the locations are mixed up between Mt.Fuji Five Lakes area and Hakone area, which are not the same place. Please refer to the map I uploaded on gallery to check the sites you are interested in. Also my blogs will help your understanding both areas - "The location difference of Mt.Fuji (Fuji Five Lakes) and Hakone". As a national government licensed guide, I've got deep knowledge of Japanese culture and history. But more than that, I really enjoy talking about the way of life with people from different cultures. I'm quite an outgoing person, ( but organized well! ), easy to get along with anybody, including small kids to teenagers. Can't wait to see you soon!

Chiu M.
Hello, and welcome to Japan! My name is Chiu, and I’m a British national who has been living in Japan for over a decade. During that time, Japan has become much more than simply a place where I live and work. It has become a country I’ve explored, experienced, and grown to truly appreciate. For more than 12 years, I worked as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japanese public schools, working with both elementary and junior high school students. This gave me the opportunity to work closely with Japanese teachers, students, and local communities, while also giving me a unique perspective on everyday life in Japan that visitors don't normally get to experience. I enjoy sharing the things that make Japan fascinating beyond the obvious tourist attractions. Tokyo has incredible temples, shrines, shopping districts, skyscrapers, and famous landmarks, but I also enjoy the smaller details—the history behind a neighborhood, the stories behind Japanese traditions, discovering great local food, and simply experiencing everyday life in Japan. What can I show you? Whether this is your first visit to Tokyo or you've been here before, I’m happy to create a tour around your interests. First time in Tokyo? We can explore some of the city's famous sights, historic areas, temples, and shrines while learning about the stories behind them. Love Japanese food? Let's explore Tokyo's food scene and discover some of the dishes and local spots that make Japanese cuisine so special. Most importantly, I want my tours to feel less like following a script and more like spending a day exploring Japan with a knowledgeable local friend. I'm happy to answer questions, adjust the pace, and tailor the experience to what you want to see and do. If you're coming to Japan, I'd love to help make your trip memorable and show you a side of Japan that you'll want to come back and experience again!

Toshiki O.
Hello! I'm Toshi, a travel lover from Tochigi. I love traveling and have been lucky enough to visit over 40 countries so far. One of the best parts of traveling is meeting local people, and I've been helped by so many kind people around the world. That's one of the reasons I wanted to become a guide. I'd love to help visitors enjoy Japan the same way local people helped me during my travels! I also enjoy talking with people from different countries. I'm always interested in hearing your travel stories, your culture, and what surprised you about Japan, etc. Another thing I love is food. Whether it's famous local dishes or small restaurants that only locals know, I'm always happy to share my favorite places. Let's have fun together! If you're looking for a relaxed, friendly tour with a local, I'd be happy to show you around. Hope to see you in Japan!

Miki K.
Hello! I’m Miki, a local English-speaking guide born and raised in Nikko. I believe the most memorable journeys aren’t defined by how many famous places you visit, but by the people you meet, the stories you hear, and the atmosphere you experience along the way. Having traveled to more than 20 countries myself, I’ve always been drawn to experiences that reveal the true heart of a place rather than simply its highlights. Those journeys have shaped the way I guide today. When I’m not guiding around Nikko, you’ll often find me in kimono, working as one of the townspeople at Edo Wonderland. It gives me a unique perspective on the history, culture, and everyday life of the Edo period—one that I love sharing with my guests. I’d love to help you discover a different side of Nikko and create a journey that reflects your interests, curiosity, and travel style. My goal is simple: to help you experience Japan through its stories, its people, and the moments that make a journey truly unforgettable. I hope that you’ll leave feeling not like you simply visited Nikko, but like you truly connected with its spirit and became part of its story, even just for a day.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure for me to show your lovely, close-knit family around my favorite place, Nikko. Getting around by train and bus in a foreign country can be challenging until you get used to it, so I’m really glad I could help make your travels a little easier. I was also very happy that you listened so attentively to my explanations and asked so many questions. It made guiding you even more enjoyable! I hope your day in Nikko, blessed with beautiful sunny weather, has become a wonderful and lasting memory for all of you. I truly hope our paths will cross again someday. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

“Best travel guide”
Kahoko is a great, knowledgeable and fun guide. We had her show us all around the Nikko shrine/temple and the mountain/lake areas. She scheduled an amazing lunch that was a crowd pleaser. She has an easy going energetic demeanor that can curate an experience to the person's particular desired experience. You cannot go wrong with booking a day with her!

Thank you very much for the kind review. Under the wonderful weather, I had a great time with a terrific couple. Thanks to you, I appreciate the most gorgeous coffee break in Nikko. I was wondering if the train tickets went well as it's kind of confusing. Still, your wonderful trip is going on, I just hope you will spend a memorable time in Japan !!

“Wonderful! Kind, flexible and thoughtful! Amazing with kids! ”
We had an absolutely wonderful day in Nikko, and so much of that was because of our amazing guide. She was kind, patient, thoughtful, and incredibly accommodating from beginning to end. We were able to see so many beautiful places, including Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Falls, Toshogu Shrine, and Rinnoji Temple, as well as a natural history museum. She made the entire day feel completely seamless, and we never had to worry about figuring out transportation, timing, or where to go next. Having a guide took so much stress out of the day and allowed us to simply enjoy being together as a family. What meant the most to me was how wonderful she was with my son. She was so patient with him and made sure the experience was interesting and fun for him, too. At one point, he dropped a toy, and she was so kind and genuinely happy to help me run back and forth trying to find it. It was such a small moment, but it really showed me what a caring person she is. She never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her or that we needed to hurry. She helped make our day in Nikko one of the most enjoyable and memorable parts of our trip. We saw incredible places, learned so much, and were able to experience everything without the stress of navigating it all ourselves. We are incredibly grateful for her kindness and patience and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone visiting Nikko. If you are traveling with children, I especially cannot recommend her enough. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and truly welcomed.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Nicole and Fulton! I’m truly grateful that I had the chance to share such a memorable day with you. Fulton was a little shy at first, but once he got his toy sword, he spent the whole day posing like a samurai and a ninja! I had so much fun watching him. Traveling with a young child can sometimes be challenging, but I think it’s also a wonderful opportunity to share special memories together as a family. Most of all, I was so happy to hear that you were able to enjoy your time in Nikko without any stress. That means a lot to me. I hope we’ll have a chance to meet again someday! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan, and thank you again, Nicholas and Fulton, for such a wonderful day!
