Shizuoka is one of the biggest tea producers in Japan having many production areas across the prefecture including Makinohara plateau, the largest tea plantation. We will visit two tea facilities located in this area. You can enjoy the experience of tea ceremony and other hands-on activities. Kakegawa Historical Walking Tour

Kakegawa is a middle-size city famous for its castle and its green tea production. As the city is located at almost the mid-point between Tokyo and Osaka, I hope that, during your Japan tour, you will get off a bullet train (shinkansen) here at Kakegawa Station and enjoy a short walking tour featuring the attractiveness of this region.

Historic and Scenic Tour at the Foot of Mt.Fuji

Histric and serene tour with 3 popular spots on the base of Mt. Fuji. First, Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine, the head shrine for more 1300 sengen shrines throughout Japan. Mt.Fuji and the goddess of Mt. Fuji welcomes us with beautiful cherry blossoms. Next, Shiraito-no-Taki with sacred water springing out of the lava cracks. Izu Experience-"Wasabi field" ,Great nature and Sushi

This tour gives you a lot of surprises and new experiences you can just do in Izu! Start from Shuzenji station, we go through a way of the among mountains in Naka Izu to visit one of the wasabi field .With its pure water and unspoiled natural surroundings, this area produces one of the best Wasabi in Japan and you are surprised to see beautiful wasabi terraces along the river. On your requests, you can experience "wasabi Picking"(seasonal ) and wasabi pickles making(all the seasons ) by local housewives.Then going deeper into the mountain, you see Banjo Falls (20m high and 6 m width). You stand in front of its great water fall to feel just relax. Try to take a deep breath with your both arms full opened , you just listen to the sounds of the waterfalls, birds singing, and nature with your eyes closed , you feel very calm and peaceful, forgetting about busy daily lives while getting positive and happy feeling. After visiting Naka Izu area, This is the time to enjoy Locan specialities!! Yes! With your wasabi picked or bought at the wasabi field, you can go to a local sushi restaurant and you try fresh sea food from just "out of the Suruga Bay " at their counter. Enjoy conversations with a restaurant staff,looking un usual seafood, and trying new sushi can be just enjoyable! You are also surprised the taste of real wasabi ( not hot like what you know.it is mildly hot and feels like a whipping cream !It is very difficult to describe so please try and tell me how you taste!). When you are happy with what you eat and experience at a sushi restaurant, this is the end of the tour ,going back to the nearest train station,saying good bye to Izu with a new memory !

Toshogu Shrine, Shimizu Sushi Museum & Lunch

Kunosan Toshogu shrine is one of the most popular historical sites in Shizuoka city. The first shogun of the Edo feudal government, Ieyasu Tokugawa was enshrined here about 400 years ago. I think he is the most famous shogun in Japanese history, because he united the nation for the first time. After he retired from the position of shogun, he spent his last years in Sumpu, the former name of Shizuoka because he loved the place very much. When he died in 1616, according to his living will, he was buried on the top of Mt. Kuno and Toshogu shrine was built the following year to enshrine his deified spirit. The main building was designated as a national treasure in 2010. The beautiful building is worth seeing and its design also exemplifies Ieyasu Tokugawa’s message of peace. I think you will find out why he wanted to be buried there and understand his spirit for pursuing peace. After visiting Toshogu shrine, you can fully enjoy a panoramic view of the Shimizu port, Miho pine grove and Mt. Fuji, if the weather allows. We can visit Sushi Museum in the Shimizu Dream Plaza(which includes a shopping mall, a movie theater, museums, restaurants etc.). There are some good sushi restaurants around the port and a sushi lunch there is recommended since it boasts Japan’s largest catch of tuna. You will love the fresh seafood there! ☆ As an option, you can visit the fish market near the Shimizu port as well. ☆ If you are interested in other places in Shizuoka, I can add it to your itinerary. One day trip to Shuzenji,Izu - spend relaxing time at the charming traditional hot spring town

We will visit the charming traditional and historical town of Shuzenji, located at the all lmost center of Izu Peninshula, the oldest hot springs resort in Izu, which is only less than 2 hours from Tokyo by train. Shuzenji is discribed as "little Kyoto" that attracts many visitors from inside and outside from the country, celebrated for beautiful mountains, hot springs, historical sites associated with the Genjinsajurai clan. When you are in Shuzenj, you will find Shuzenji very different from other hot spring resorts as the town remainds quaint and relaxed atmosphere of old Japan. Because of this distinctively nostalgic and elegant atmosphere, many famouse novelists and artists such as Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Yasunari Kawabata and others created their master pieces there . We visit very attractive spots such as a historical temple of Shuzenji Temple, Shigetsu den known as the oldest wooden structure in Izu and very elegant atmosphere of Bamboo Forest Path .All of them were disignated as one of the beautiful spots in Japan by "Michelin Green Guide Japan". Walking through the bamboo Forest Path, listening to the sound of birds. Why not trying Japanese Kimono? There is a shop you can rent Japanese traditional Kimono ,and you can strall around the town. When you get tired, you can stop at "Ashiyu"-foot bath along the revier, too. Before leaving Izu, you may want to try delicious food in Izu, such as fresh Japanese noodle with the best Wasabi in this area, Sushi and others. I can arrange your lunch for you uopn your request ! You will enjoy freshest seafood from the Suruga bay for Sushi but what is more fun is the time you share with the owner of the sushi restaurant. At the counter with its friendly atmosphere you feel as if you were their regular customer! - Shuzenji is known as the best spot for " autumn leaves" and " cherry blossom ". The season of autumn leaves starts from the end of October till the end of November. The season of cherry blossom starts from the end of March to April. However, it differs depending on the weather and temperature . You enjoy meeting with the local people, visiting local craft and ceramic shops and trying delicious food and sweet to add your great memories. One day walking excursion at Mishima

Are you looking for a day trip to have a break from visiting big and busy cities and seek relief from everyday fatigue? This is the ideal walking tour to relax and refresh your mind by exploring Mishima city, known as "city of water and history". Mishima is located in the eastern part of Shizuka prefecture with one of ideal places to see Mt.Fuji, only 50 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen and it is also very convenient to make a stop for the day tour from the eastern part of Japan, too.

Visit to Tea Museum and Tea Town in Shizuoka

In this tour, we will visit two places. One is the World Tea Museum located in Makinohara. It is the largest tea plantation in Japan. We can learn about the history and culture on tea across the world and experience tea ceremony there. Shizuoka city has Chamachi(Tea Town) in its downtown area. There are some businesses related to tea industry gathering for a long time. We will visit one of the tea dealers to have a look at a tea factory and enjoy a cup of tea. The area also has an old shrine which had been patronized by Shogun Family and the towns(including tea twon) and streets had been developed under the reign of Shogun.
