Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. L'histoire du Japon est parfois mystérieuse . Parce que le bouddisme qui vient de l'Inde et le shintoïsme qui est la religion indigène cohabitent dans notre vie quotidienne. Pourquoi les deux religions cohabitent ? Comment nous pouvons le comprendre ? C'est la question qui m'intéresse aussi. Je voudrais donc chercher une réponse et avoir les expériences exceptionnelles ensemble avec les touristes. En tant que guide, je ne veux pas uniquement leur l'expliquer et leur en parler, mais je fais en voyage ensemble avec les touristes pour présenter les charmes du Japon. Ensuite, j'aimerais présenter ma ville Mishima et la région d'Izu. Tokyo et Kyoto est typiquement Japon ? Mais non ! La vie quotidienne exisite à la compagne, je pense. Les touristes étrangers peuvent également découvrir les aspecs différents que leur pays et avoir. Par exemple, Mishima est près de Tokyo. Les rivières traversent dans la ville. L'eau de la rivière vient du Mt Fuji, froide et très propre. Nous pouvons y marcher et nous baigner pendant l'été. Et puis, nous pouvons visiter la ruine de chateau Yamanaka qui est entre Mishima et Hakone. C'est un parc civique et l'entrée gratuite. Les touristes voient Mt Fuji et la baie de Suruga. Start from Shuzenji station, we go through a way of the among mountains in Naka Izu to visit one of the wasabi field .With its pure water and unspoiled natural surroundings, this area produces one of the best Wasabi in Japan and you are surprised to see beautiful wasabi terraces along the river. On your requests, you can experience "wasabi Picking"(seasonal ) and wasabi pickles making(all the seasons ) by local housewives.Then going deeper into the mountain, you see Banjo Falls (20m high and 6 m width). “Stunning north/central Izu! ”

We went on a half-day, guided tour of north/central Izu and can honestly say it was an amazing tour! Yasuko-san was a terrific guide who provided a very appealing itinerary that included, among other things, a tour of waterfalls and wasabi fields. She communicated with us on a regular basis leading up to the tour and readily accommodated us based on our interests and time constraints. She met us promptly at the train station on the day of the tour and assisted us in securing a chartered taxi ahead of time. Yasuko-san and the driver took us to outstanding and remote points of interest that we would’ve never discovered on our own. The Izu region is simply beautiful with an abundance of nature, charm, and history. Bottom line, we highly recommend hiring Yasuko-san as a guide. She was warm, personable, and very professional. Moreover, we highly recommend going with this company as they helped resolve an initial problem with another guide and subsequently referred us to Yasuko-san.
