This brief tour was arranged to be a short introduction to Tokyo, Japan with a small tour at a site near our hotel. Tomoko met us at the airport, helped us get our luggage shipped to our hotel in Kyoto, exchange our JR vouchers for passes and secure tickets for ALL of our JR rail trips on our 9-day trip in Japan, helped us get to our first hotel, etc. I simply cannot imagine doing this while jet lagged without Tomoko! She was precious upon meeting her and greeted us both with a huge hug, which was quite the surprise but so appreciated, and the positives just kept going from there! She was invaluable and worth every cent! We attempted to tour the underground area of the Tokyo Station where there is a maze of endless restaurants, shops, vendors, etc. She realized quickly that my husband was greatly suffering from jet lag and hadn't slept in well over 24 hours. We went directly to our hotel, got him checked in and settled, and then she and I met again to go back to the train station (one block) to buy and load Suica cards. She knew ahead of time how helpful these would work for us during our touring, outside of her services, but assisted us anyway! These notions and having an understanding of her clients' needs is why she stands apart! I so appreciated the orientation she provided for us! If you are nervous about getting your feet under you once arriving in Japan, where to go, what to do, how to get the passes you need, and so on, Tomoko is the guide for you! Tomoko, I miss you already!
Thank you so much for the great review with your experiences, Rachael! Yes, I was so excited to see you at Haneda airport after 7 months of message exchange in advance. It was as if I saw my old friend after a long absence. Thank you for sharing so many memorable moments together with you and Mike. I was so happy and relieved to see Mike had recovered when we met again and genuinely enjoyed Sumo, the car museum, and beer & sake ? Great summer days! I miss you, too ?
