Personal Customised Tour in Fukuoka
An 8 hour personal tour. Your choice of various destinations and sightseeing spots in Fukuoka and the surrounding areas, or other cities. Take a look at some of the possible highlights or contact me and let me make suggestions based on your preferences (city, countryside, both, historical, modern, desired length of tour, etc). I can make a plan, to suit your tastes and goals.
Meeting Point
At your hotel / a place of your choice, agreed upon in advance.
Nokonoshima Island Park - Take a short boat trip from the City, to a beautiful, serene and scenic park, featuring huge seasonal flowerbeds (including Sakura in springtime) and overlooking the sea with the city on the horizon.
Dazaifu - A city steeped in history and home to the Tenmangu Shrine; one of the most important and historical shrines in Japan. Experience some traditional culture, not too far from the centre of Fukuoka City. Dazaifu also hosts the Kyushu National Museum, as well as various shops, restaurants and cafes, where you can try the local sweets, including the famous Umegai mochi.
Nanzo-in Temple - Take the train from Hakata, to visit Nanzo-in Temple and see the famous reclining Buddha; an increasingly popular and incredibly impressive site, but still one that is relatively unknown among foreign visitors!
Shopping in Tenjin or Hakata - Time to buy souvenirs or check out some of the many department stores and local goods shops. Let me know what you're interested in and I'll take you there.
Momochihama and Fukuoka Tower - Take a short trip to the seaside and visit Momochi Beach, home to the tallest seaside tower in Japan.
Maizuru Park and Fukuoka Castle Ruins - Take a stroll around the scenic and quite lovely grounds of the former Fukuoka Castle, featuring traditional walls and guard towers. It is especially beautiful in Cherry Blossom season.
Around Kyushu or Yamaguchi prefecture - If you have a destination in mind, just let me know and I'll try to arrange it for you. I'm open to travelling quite far, (subject to prior agreement and payment of a round trip travel fee).

Inclusions & Exclusions
Guide fee, Hotel pick-up and return.
Transportation fee for you and the guide, lunch, dinner, entrance fees for you and the guide.
Please contact me about the type of tour you would like and I will give you a rough estimate of transportation costs and entrance fees, if your destination requires a fee. For most of the options on my list, the fee should be quite low, but it is best to be prepared to pay in cash, on the day of the tour.

Please contact me before making a booking, so that we can agree on your destinations. At that time, I can also give you information regarding transportation costs /entrance fees to the various locations. Most are free, but some require a (usually small) fee. Feel free to confirm the options or ask me any questions, then let's make a plan and go!
I am available to guide you around other areas that can be accessed from this area, (such as Oita, Yamaguchi, Hiroshima, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, etc) provided you pay for my transportation. I am also willing to guide you for more than one day, if you can pay for accommodation and so on.
