Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, has long been regarded as an Island of Gods on the beautiful Seto Inland Sea. It is a romantic and historical island where Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site, is located, along with the Virgin Forest of Mt. Misen, and numerous preserved shrines, temples and historical monuments.

Miyajima is a small island less than an hour outside the city of Hiroshima. It is a very romantic and relaxing place. It is most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water. The sight is ranked as one of Japan's three best views.
you can walk around Miyajima to see Itsukushima shrine, in the public's mind. Like the torii gate, the shrine's main buildings are built over water, Five story pagoda and Buddist hall.
you can also visit Daishoin temple, one of the most important temples of Shingon Buddhism. It features a variety of buildings, statues and other religious objects for visitors to admire.
There are also wild deer on the island that have become accustomed to people. In the day the deer wander around the island.
Oyster landed in Hiroshima is very big and thick tasty, and Hiroshima is the number one of landing of oysters in Japan. There are some oyster shops that serve grilled oysters and vinegared fresh oysters to visitors in the Miyajima Island.
Okonomiyaki is the most famous as Hiroshima soul food, cooked with superposition of cabbage, bean sprouts, pork, egg and noodles, which is soba or udon, on thin flour dough spread like crepe.
At low tide, you are able to walk to Otorii Gate but when the tide flows it looks like the shrine is floating on water.
This idea to make the temple look different according to the tide will be only found here in Itsukushima shrine.

“Wonderful Day with Kazumi-san!”
From meeting us at our ship, through our tour of the Peace Park and Memorial Museum, a great lunch and our tour of Miyajima Island, Kazumi-san was among the best guides we have experienced. She was knowledgeable, informative, considerate, flexible and a pleasure to spend time with. We learned a great deal about Japanese life just from her honest conversation. We could not have been happier to have met her and recommend her without reservation!
“Excellent Day”
Kazumi San looked after me and my Father during the tour. We spent time at the peace park/ museum and Miyajima Island. Throughout the day Kazumi san provided historical facts and explanation in clear spoken English. We also tried Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki which was delicious. We had a great day and would strongly recommend Kazumi san’s tour. ありがとうございます
“Lovely Guiding Experience”
Kazumi was an excellent guide and great company. She provided lots of context and historical facts during the tour, which in parts is a challenging experience given the historical significance of the place. We enjoyed the ferry trip across to Myajima Island after experiencing the Okonomiyaki pancake in a local restaurant. The Hiroshima Okonomiyaki prides itself as being better than the Osaka equivalent and we would agree! Thank you Kazumi for making our day special and we would highly recommend her to others considering a guided tour in this area.
