This is a private tour by van or by bullet train and bus from Morioka in Iwate Prefecture to visit Samurai District in Kakunodate and Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture. Six samurai residences remain in Kakunodate, making it one of the best places to see an example of a Japanese castle town. Lake Tazawa is the deepest lake in Japan, and its sapphire-blue lake is astonishingly beautiful.

“Wonderful Trip!!!”
Akiko was amazing -- she customized this trip for my client and despite flooding made arrangements for her to see everything she wanted to see. She made special arrangements for her to see a shrine (the main purpose of the trip ) when the road was closed and the shrine was closed - she got her in anyway!! Per my client - she was worth every yen!! Thanks for making the a special trip.

(12 reviews)Becky, Safety was the most important under such weather conditions. I was so happy that your client could enjoy several spots in the city, and visit the shrine, and depart Akita earlier. We found out at the airport that her original flight had been canceled. I hope she enjoyed the rest of her stay in Japan! Best regards to her. Thank you! Akiko

“Excellent tour ”
Akiko ran an excellent tour with everything very well organised, with plenty of useful material to help along the way. Akiko went above and beyond in identifying excellent additional places we could visit along the way. Akiko has exceptional knowledge of the local area and history, and was able to communicate this very effectively in English and help translate as needed.
