One hour train-ride from Tokyo, Kamakura is a historical place where the first samurai government was established in 12 century. There are tens of beautiful temples and shrines in Kamakura. All of them have beautiful Japanese gardens, some of which are famous for its "Hanami", cherry blossoms viewing. I will show you some of the best "Hanami" spots in Kamakura. It takes one hour to go by train from Tokyo to Fujisawa.

“Tokyo tour with Kaneo”

Kaneo is a very personable and helpful guide. He was efficient and knowledgeable. The your he planned for us took in all the major sites we wished to visit and he did not rush us, actually he gave us more time than we had paid for. It would have been helpful to have some written information about the sites we visited to take away and read, because there is limited time and a lot to take in. But this is only a small point and overall the experience was excellent.

“Great day in Tokyo with Kaneo”

With Kaneo as my guide, I was able to see many attractions in Tokyo in one day. I would never have been able to see so many sites by myself. Tokyo is busy and confusing, so someone who is visiting for the first time can really benefit from having a skilled guide lead the way. Kaneo could answer every question I ask. “Hanami Tour of a Lifetime”

We were very lucky to be in Japan in time for the cherry blossom season. It bloomed late this year which was favourable for our group and Kaneo made sure that we will be in those spots where we had been so mesmerised with the vast number of trees in bloom. At some parts, petals were slowly falling which made it magical! Kaneo made sure that we enjoyed every visited place we've been to. Not rushing at all and paced very strategically. He also brought us to a sumptuous sushi lunch. And though it rained a bit , Kaneo tailored the tour with the rain in mind so were mostly in subway trains on travel while rain was pouring. And we will be walking dry when we're out. It was a very enjoyable tour! Must do if you're a sakura fan! Will not disappoint if timed well! Thank you very much Kaneo!

Once the samurai capital of Japan, Kamakura is visited by as many as 20 million people a year. Some of the most popular spots among visitors are Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Great Buddha, and Hokokuji Temple nicknamed Bamboo Temple. On this tour, along with the three places, I would like to offer two more attractive spots to visit. We first visit three places in the north-eastern area of Kamakura, Bamboo Temple, popular for its bamboo glove with a teahouse serving powdered green tea, Sugimoto Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Kamakura dating back to the 8th century, Egara Tenjin, a shinto shrine enshrining deified Sugawara Michizane, the god of learning and scholarship. We take a bus to visit Bamboo Temple, but after that we enjoy strolling around the local residential areas while visiting two other places and the fourth destination, Tsurugaoka Hachiman Srine which was constructed by the first Shogun of the Kamakura Government. After coming back to Kamakura station, we take the Enoden Line to Hase station to visit the last destination, Great Buddha, an open-air Buddha sitting under the sun for some 750 years. This tour covers history of Kamakura from much before the establishment of the samurai government to just after the end of it, and of course, shopping in Komachi-dori street and at Masamune Sword and Blade Workshop by request.
