This tour is recommended for the first visitors to Kyoto. Kyoto had been the capital of Japan for 1000 years and has many old temples and shrines to visit. In this tour, you can visit two of the most famous and popular sightseeing spots in Kyoto and see the wonderful tradition, especially about Buddhist culture.
At your hotel (lobby) (in Kyoto)
You can see 1001 statues of Buddha in a hall. It's a 'Forest of Buddha'. You will be amazed at the scenery. It is said that you will find the Buddha which resembles you among these statues.
Please be noted that you have to take off your shoes to enter the building.
Please be noted that you cannot take any pictures in this hall. Please imprint the breathtaking view in your memory!
This temple was built on the 13-meter cliff without using any nails in the 8th century. (UNESCO World Cultural Herigate site)
You can enjoy the panoramic view of Kyoto city, shopping and eating on its approach way. (There are many souvenir shops around this temple and you can enjoy shopping. Kiyomizu Pottery is produced in this area and you will find good presents for your family and friends.) How about trying some pieces of 'Yatsuhashi' (specialty sweets of Kyoto area)? You can try some different kinds of 'Yatsuhashi'.
You can also visit waterfall which is famous because the water gives you, 'longevity, love, or study (wisdom)'
This temple is so beautiful with cherry blossoms in spring and colored maple leaves in fall. Please enjoy!!
This shrine is famous as the Shinto shrine for love and many young people like to visit this shrine.
(Jisyu Jinjya Shrine will start its renovation in August 2022 and be closed for public for 3 years.)
You can hold on to the string of Buddhist rosary beads in the dark hall and feel like to go back to your mother's womb.

“A magical day in Kyoto.”
There are no perfect tours but this one is very close. It's a perfect itinerary to see the most important parts of Kyoto without being in a rush.We managed to visit "the cream of the crop" in terms of temples and shrines. Arashiyama forest as well, which is a beautiful and must see place. The trip was over 9 hours but we didn't get bored or tired. Not at all. Tomoe is a very knowledgeable and kind person. She answered all of our questions. And even recommend a nice place for lunch, and suggest what we can do or visit on our free day. Definitely recommend.

(97 reviews)Dear Lyubomir, Thank you very much for such a wonderful review again! Thanks to you, the great tour leader, all of your members (your friends) from Bulgaria, and I had a great day in Kyoto. I was impressed with you, always thought about your friends, took care of them, and did anything for them. (We have exchanged more than 70 mails before the tour!) I'm very sorry that you gave up trying the train in Sagano due to the tight schedule, though. Maybe next time! Thank you very much for giving me such a precious meeting! ほんとにどうもありがとう!TOMOE

“Great experience in Nara and Osaka.”
You can't go wrong with a guide like Tomoe. She is very kind and helpful. Also got a touch with the details. At the same time she is always aware where everybody is and keeps up a good pace, not so fast, not too slow. She always takes notes and tries to improve after every tour. Maybe one day for Nara and a part of Osaka it's a bit too tight, but overall a great experience with excellent guide service. I'll always recommend her.

“2 day Nara and Kyoto tour ”
Tomeo was highly recommended to me by my friend and needless to say, she did not disappoint at all. From the moment I contacted Tomeo, she was very responsive and even opened up her schedule to accommodate 2 days travel guide for me. She took into consideration we were traveling with young children and elderly as well. She made sure to stop for bathroom breaks which was important for the young and mature! She took time in explaining the history of the places we visited and took us to all the sights we wanted to see. She made local food recommendations which turned out to be one of our favorites. Having Tomeo guide us around Kyoto made our trip stress-free so we can actually enjoy the sights and the beautiful culture of Japan. I would definitely recommend Tomeo to anyone looking for a tour guide!
