Nature and Culture in Akiu Hot Spring District
Akiu is one of the most famous hot spring districts in the north-eastern part of Japan.
Thanks to its accessibility(only 30 minutes ride from the center of Sendai), it is visited by many tourists and local people.
You can also enjoy the great view of nature, and even try Japanese traditional handicraft.

Tour Important Information
We use the public transportation(mainly bus).
The number of buses to Akiu Traditional Craft Village is not so large.
And their workshops usually take about one hour.
So if you want to visit Akiu Traditional Craft Village, our tour will be a little busy.
Akiu district has so many tourist spots(hot springs, natural parks, restaurants, museums, etc).
If you would like to visit the places which are not on this page, please do not hesitate to ask me.

“Customized Half Day Sendai Tour”
My wife is a true Hanyu Yuzuru’s fan and that’s the main reason why we decided to spend half day (on our way to Akita) in Sendai to visit his birth place and hometown. If triplelights allow us to give Shunsuke a six stars rating, we are more happy to do so. Shunsuke diligently planned a special tour to make sure my wife can experience her “Yuzuru” experience, Shunsuke even went beyond and helped my wife to get the limited Yuzuru subway pass two months before we arrived. He understand our group is traveling with an elderly and pre arranged taxi service besides using the subway. Shunsuke is very communicative, patient, courteous and accommodative. We decided to schedule another half day trip with him when we travel back from Akita to Tokyo. Anyone who is interested in exploring the beautiful Sendai should hire Shunsuke.

Matsushima, one of the three most scenic views in Japan
“A Very Memorable Tour in Matsushima Area”
Shunsuke was a great tour guide with a lot of experience, he planned our tour carefully and also took into account my preferences about what to do along the way. I wanted to see the cherry blossoms and he took me to a park on the hills of Matsushima where the view of cherry blossoms together with the view of Matshusima Bay area was amazing! I wanted to try some of the local food and he took me to a local restaurant for a great sushi course and famous local oysters. Of course, we also visited all the important monuments in the area, even witnessed a real buddhist wedding ceremony in Zuiganji Temple! Every step along the way, he told me about the importance and the history of the places we visited. I really enjoyed the tour and also learned a lot from him. I would highly recommend Shunsuke as a tour guide to anyone planning to visit Matsushima area..
