“Michiko was the best guide, in our Japan trip ”

Our tour with Michiko was our last one before our trip back home, and I guess the saying “save the best for last” holds true here. Michiko was able to give us exactly what we wanted from -unique traditional pottery stores in a very quiet- non-touristy area, and so many quaint shops. To the most delicious ramen restaurant, an inspiring moss garden and a path through the bamboo forest. My most favorite day with Michiko. Thank you again so much- hope to return soon!

Thank you for your sweet review! I was also so happy to explore some non-touristy places with such a lovely family like you. Your family were all genius to find wonderful things, from small to big, and appreciate them so much. Especially Christine seemed to have some antenna to find her favorite craft shops! “2 days in Kyoto”

Michiko was a fantastic guide for our 2 days in Kyoto. There is no way we would have seen half as much without her help. We provided her with a list of sights we wanted to visit and she was able to create an itinerary that limited travel time on public transport between sights. She also made suggestions based on things that would be close to the things we wanted to see. On our days, she provided excellent background information in English about the place we were touring and took pictures of us as a family. Michiko engaged with my children(ages 15,17) and helped them get them most of their visit. At lunch time, Michiko found restaurants that served food my kids would eat, but also had local dishes. Kyoto's public transit system is not an easy system to navigate. Googlemaps did a very poor job and signs were not as well designed for non-native readers as Tokyo's transit system. We would have spent most of our days in Kyoto lost or wandering without our guide. Best investment of our trip.

“Excellent tour and the tour guide!”

Michiko gave us a very memorable tour in Nara. She guided us from one place to another so we didn’t struggle with the navigation, she explained the history, architecture and the construction details of the buildings. We had an enjoyable lunch at the traditional Japanese restaurant as well. I highly recommend this tour with Michiko.

Thank you for your kind comment! I was lucky to have such a wonderful couple like you. While listening to my explanations, you kindly shared a lot of your stories, too. I was really impressed to know there is an illumination event, "Luminaria" in New Mexico, which has the holly vibe similar to the lantern festival in Kasuga grand shrine. I also can't forget the heartwarming stories of your adorable black cats!
