Nikko Tour of Culture and Entertainment
Nikko is one of the most significant places in Japan. Surrounded by the beautiful mountainous landscape you'll be able to immerse yourself in the beautiful nature of Japan. The area is also well-known for its cultural significance. From ancient times till today, Nikko stands for one of the spiritual centers of Japanese society. The most significant place in Nikko is the World Heritage Site, Toshogu. It's beauty is just stunning! I'll explain about the history of the area when we visit this site.

Tour Important Information
After you've enjoyed the nature and culture of Nikko, we'll go to Edo Wonderland which is a theme park focusing on the time of the Edo Period. There you can see and experience the life style of the people of Edo and of course the shows of the Ninja, Samurai, and Oiran!!!
Things you can see and experience during the tour
Via Tokyo to Nikko
The easiest way to get to Nikko from Tokyo is from either Asakusa or Shinjuku
In this case I will explain the most reasonable way to get to Nikko, which is from Asakusa Station by Tobu Line. The train ride from Asakusa to Nikko (using the Limited Express "Spacia") will take 2 hours.
While you are on the train you'll be able to see the scenery change from city to suburb, then to the mountainous country side. You can tell the difference by the number of tall buildings, the size of the houses, number of cars, and the increasing rice fields.
From Nikko Station
We'll walk around and see the beautiful Nikko area so that you can experience the nature and the culture of Nikko. We'll be walking to one of Japan's World Heritage sites, the Nikko Toshogu. While we're there I'll explain the history and cultural significance of Nikko in Japan.
Lunch
Nikko is very famous for Yuba, which directly translated is tofu skin. It's made completely out of soy and has quite a unique texture. I'm planning to take you to have a special lunch of yuba, although we can be flexible according to your preference.
Nikko Edo Mura (Edo Wonderland)
After lunch in the Nikko area, we'll go to Nikko Edomura (Edo Wonderland). It's a type of theme park, which focuses on the culture of the Edo Period (1603- 1868). Inside the park, the buildings are based on the mid-Edo period between Genroku and Kyoho, which was the period that cultural expansion was most significant. In the park you can see how they dressed, what they ate and so on. You can literally go back in time to the Edo period!!
Ekiben
You'll probably be very tired from all the walking and excitement, and at the end of our tour you'll need to ride another 2 hours back to Tokyo. So I recommend buying a nice Japanese Bento Box (lunch box) that you can enjoy while on the train!!

“Special Tour of Akihabara and Shibuya”
I booked a special tour of Akihabara and Shibuya for my family. Makoto was wonderful and very responsive in answering my questions as I decided on the details of the tour.
