Asakusa
First, we visit Asakusa area, the most popular district in Tokyo.
At Sensouji Temple, you'll see and exerience Japanese tradition, culture and costom.
- Kaminarimon gate, Nakamise shopping street, Middle gate, Purification font, the main building and five storied Pagoda etc.
It's nice to enjoy walking around and trying various kinds of Japanese foods, confections etc.
* *We have lunch at Asakusa
or at Shibuya.
Sushi, Ramen, Tempura, Sukiyaki, Beef bowl, etc. according to your request.
Shibuya:
- We cross the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
- the statue of HACHI (a name of the faithful dog).
- Watch a big 3-Dimension picture of dog near the HACHIKO.
It's newly installed in July 2022.
- We drop in a department store near the station to see a part of Japanese life.
Meiji shrine
Built in 1920 to dedicate to the spirit of Emperor Meiji and his consort Empress Shoken.
- the biggest shrine in Tokyo, people can feel calm and holy atmosphere on the way to the main hall.
- You 'll see the difference between temple and shrine. (Asakusa Sensouji temple and Meiji shrine)
- If we are lucky, we may come across the traditional Japanese style of wedding procession.
** We drop in a nice cafe in front of Meiji shrine for a coffee break.
Omotesando area
Beautiful and fashionable shopping street with the zelkova row of trees.
It's called "Champs- Elysees in Tokyo".

“Great time in Tokyo”
We spent 2 1/2 days with Shizuko walking and taking the subway all over Tokyo. We saw a couple of Cherry Blossom flowers since this year we were just a couple of days early. There was not a place in Tokyo we missed. While our first day was rainy, we still got to see many sites. We learned how to use the Suica card to get around and how to navigate the subway system. Even though we took many subways to get to the destination, we will managed to put on over 10,000 steps a day. She even printed out detailed instructions for our driver to get us to an infrequently used cruise terminal in Yokohama. Everything was customized to our needs. Just a fabulous 2 1/2 days even with the bad weather and lots of tourists trying to eat lunch at the same time. I highly recommend Shizuko if you need a guide in Toyko.

At the first day of the tour, we’ve been to many must-see spots in Tokyo in a heavy rain and strong wind. And the second day, (it was nice weather) we’ve been to Imperial Palace and the East Garden, we walked a lot and had a late lunch and visited the Ueno Park. And the third day, we visited two famous cherry blossom viewing spots, but cherry blossoms hadn’t bloomed yet, though how much I wanted you see them. Today in Tokyo, it’s getting warmer and cherry trees are finally blooming beautifully. I hope you have already enjoyed the cherry blossoms in full bloom somewhere in Japan. Shizuko was an amazing guide she tended to our needs with my mother who needs extra help when walking long distances. She was prepared in every way and very organized we truly appreciated having her as our guide she explain to us the train system and how to get to where we needed to without her. This was a great experience for my family and I having Shizuko as our guide she made Japan feel very welcoming for us .

Because the last day in Shibuya, it was raining and all of you had many shopping bags full of souvenirs. (Thank you for sending me a photo you took it at Shibuya, I can see many souvenir bags you have.) They must be really heavy to carry all the time. And I wondered how was your husband’s mother. I hope she was fine. How was the taste of Kobe Beef? etc. The transportation network in Tokyo is complicate, but it’s systematic. So, once you know it, you can try to go around Tokyo by yourselves. I believe that you’ve been to Akihabara, Tsukiji and Asakusa again by yourselves. Amanda, you are so sweet person to take care of your family very well.
