Kamakura is a traditional seaside city that is just one-hour's train ride from Tokyo. This town has prospered as a capital of first militaristic government. There are many Zen-Temples, where you can experience Zen- meditation and eat Zen vegetarian foods. In Komach Street, there are many unique shops and restaurants they will definitely satisfy you.

Move to Kamakura from Tokyo Station by JR Yokosuka-sen. One hour train ride.
Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine is famous for being the guardian shrine of Japan's first military government, which was established in the late 12th century. Then Hachiman became worshipped by warriors as deity of the military.
There are a lot of shops selling beautiful handcraft Kamakura- bori , and other souvenirs, and also restaurants serving original foods like Japanese green tea cakes, and pancake which John Lennon and Yoko Ono loved to eat.
There is the great Buddha statue with the height of 11.3 meters made of bronze, and one of famous statue in east Japan.
The main image, Hase Kannon is 9.2 meters tall and has eleven heads in addition to its main one, signifying that the deity listens to the wishes of all types of people.
After shopping souvenirs, go back to Tokyo from Kamakura Station. Estimated arrival time in Tokyo will be around 16:30.
