In Japan, two religions, Shintoism and Buddhism, have been co-existing from six century without any problems when the Buddhism came to Japan from India through China and Korea. In this tour, we will visit two major facilities of the religions, Meiji-jingu Shrine and Sensoji Temple.

Meeting Point

At the gate of Meiji-jigu Shrine close to JR Harajuku station or Meiji-jingu-mae station (station code C-03) of subway Chiyoda line(green color code). If you wish me to meet at your hotel, I will be there.

- To visit Meijijingu Shinto Shrine, the biggest shirine in Tokyo with three million people for the first visit of a new year in first three days in January.

- To visit Sensoji Buddhism Temple which is the oldest one in Tokyo with about 1,400 years history.

Ending Point

At the Kaminar- mon gate of Sensoji Temple.If you wish me to drop you at your hotel, I will do it.

Tour Important Information

- Guide does not intend propagandize the Shintoism and Buddhism to the tourists.

- If you want, the guide will take you anywhere you like with additional guide fee after the tour.

- Usually we use a subway to move in city area of Tokyo. The trains are very clean and safe.

- When you wish, we will take a taxi from Meiji-jingu Shrine to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa area.It would be about 4,000 yen.

Important message from the guide

1) When you would like me to guide another cities such as Kyoto, Nara and Osaka than listed above, you are cordially requested to pay the followings;

- my round transportation to the area,

- accommodation in the area and meals in addition to the guide fee.

2) Your booking should be done basically before ten days of the first guiding day.

“Energetic guide who goes above and beyond”

Masato was an excellent guide and was especially patient with our family of three generations. He shared insights into Japanese culture and history without overwhelming us with information, and he put together a customized schedule that worked well for everyone, even when we had a lot of extra stops. We arranged a driver as well and Masato went out of his way to make sure all the details were in place and that the driver knew where to go. We would never have gotten to see so many things in the short time we had in Tokyo without his help. We are grateful to have shared the day with Masato!
