This tour will be of interest to those who would like to be introduced to major aspects of Tokyo's life such as history, culture and life of today's Japanese society. The tour includes most of the city' s key locations and gives you an opportunity to get familiar with big city life and see it from different angles.
At designated Hotel Lobby or Ginza Mitsukoshi Department Store
I will pick you up from hotel or we can set up start location in Ginza Mitsukoshi, this will also allow us spend less time in trains.
Ginza is a fashionable quarter of Tokyo located in the geographical center of the city, within walking distance of Tokyo Station and the residence of the Japanese emperor. Perhaps most conveniently located for living, walking and traveling to other parts of the city. The neighborhood has a rich history and is home to many establishments that have been doing business in the area for decades or even hundreds of years. The area attracts tourists with its modern flavor with a touch of pretentious pomp that remains from the Meiji era.
A Japanese landscaped garden that was once the residence of Japan's most powerful military clan. The view of the Shiodome skyscraper district is striking, creating an unusual urban oriental landscape. There is a tea house in the park, where you can enjoy Japanese sweets with whipped matcha green tea overlooking a beautiful pond.
A legendary place with a great history. Here you can taste the authentic Japanese street food: giant oysters, sea urchin roasted with scallops, crabs and red caviar. Happy trading starts early in the morning and ends at noon, and many delis that serve the freshest seafood don't close their doors to customers around the clock.
Meiji Shrine is one of the most popular and I could say the most important Shinto shrine in the city. Here you can stroll in the shade of century-old trees, take pictures at the giant torii gates, make a written wish to the Japanese gods, and on holidays and weekends you can most certainly bump into a traditional Japanese wedding
Japan is famous for its progressive sub-cultures, which capture the minds of Japanese youth and sometimes adults as well. Harajuku, for many years now, has been the birthplace of Japanese youth fashion, with world-renowned designers specially visiting Harajuku to catch the latest fashion trends. You can walk down Takeshita Street and meet a lot of unusually dressed young people, buy a T-shirt with an unusual print, and eat some of the crazy colorful desserts that are popular among young Tokyites.
Tokyo is known for its crowds and bright lights, shining huge screens with advertisements and if you would like to plunge into the atmosphere of the bustling Tokyo life, you must visit the Shibuya crossing. This intersection is a confluence of 6 roads, and at the same time in all directions the street is crossed by up to 5 thousand people at a time. There is also a monument to friendship and loyalty - a monument to the dog Hachiko. We could finish our trip at Shibuya Sky perhaps the best observation deck in all Tokyo
OTSUKARE SAMA!!! We done for the day!
