Tour Important Information

This tour is available only ONCE A MONTH, since the museum allows any person to purchase the tickets only once a month.

Because this place is very popular, the tickets are very difficult to purchase.

When you book this tour well in advance, I can purchase tickets for you on the first day of the sale.

Then, you will be able to enter it.

Tickets go on sale from the TENTH day of each month for the following month (for example, tickets for July 1 through July 31 go on sale on June 10).

Tickets usually get sold out on the first day.

You may specify time to enter the museum from 10:00AM, 11:00AM, 12:00AM, 13:00PM, 14:00PM, 15:00PM, and 16:00PM(Summer only).

You must enter the museum within one hour after the specified time.

1. You need well advanced arrangement. Tickets go on sale from the tenth day of each month for the following month (for example, tickets for July 1 through July 31 go on sale on June 10). Tickets are good only for the specified date and time of entry. Tickets usually get sold out on the first day.

2. The entrance fee is not refundable. Even though you may cancel the tour in advance, you will still be obliged to pay the entrance fee.

3. Entrance fee is NOT included in the tour fee. It is 1,000 Yen for adults, 700 Yen for 13 - 18 yrs, 400 Yen for 7 - 12 yrs, 100 Yen for 4 - 6 yrs, and free for under 4 yrs. They are payable to the guide on the day by cash only.

4. Transportation fee is not included in the tour fee.

5. Lunch is available at the cafeteria, and not included in the tour fee.


On Tuesdays, the museum is closed. The museum is occasionally closed for renewal.

“Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful”

Highly recommend a tour with Yoshi K. He purchased our tickets, met us at our hotel and took us to Studio Ghibli by train where he showed us around the museum. He was very helpful, had some good tips for our trip, and communicated well with us. Without Yoshi K we would not have been able to see Studio Ghibli.

“Exceptional tour and guide!”

Our family absolutely loved our Ghibli tour with Yoshi! The entire process was easy. Yoshi was so accommodating and advised us with many other aspects of our trip. Not only did he acquire our tickets for us, but we all felt that we got so much more out of the museum. We genuinely enjoyed his company- he is very funny!
