Half day walk in Tokyo with '' Lady Musashino''
We are visiting Kokubunji-Koganei area (30mins from Shinjuku by train) walking from shrines, temples to hidden gardens in the fresh air. This is a quiet residential area with numerous water springs and native woodlands. The history and geology of this area is remarkable. You will be surprised how much clear fresh water flowing in this central Tokyo and ancient heritages integrated in modern life.
Meeting Point

Masugata Pond - a pond of spring waters which used to be used as a drinking water. There is a folklore about this pond.
Ancient Gate House of Honda Family - originally built in 14th century, used for servants, horses, retired owner and doctor through history.
Yakushido - reconstructed after the loss of Kokubunji temples in fires in Kamakura period.
The remain of Musashi Kokubunji Temple and Museum - A set of nun's temple and monk's temple which were controlled by Emperor Shomu (8th century)
Otaka Alley - An alley along an irrigation channel collecting spring water from Masugata pond and flowing into Nogawa river.
Garden 1- A promenade style garden with woods and pond using the maximum of sloped topography. We will have a tea break with Japanese sweets and cold barely tea in a beautiful Gazebo 'Autumn Colour'
Nukui shrine - A shrine with spring water. People believed that if they prayed for rain in this shrine, it always succeed.
Garden 2 - Another promenade style garden in sloped topography. You can listen to the beautiful sounds of Suikinkutsu.
Soba restaurant (or Ramen restaurant) - Local restaurants for lunch upon your request.

Tour Important Information
・If heavy rain or storm is predicted one day before, the tour will be cancelled, or replaced by another indoor activity with your consensus such as onsen, tea ceremony, or Japanese flower arrangement.
・We are going to walk up to 10km, and half of the route includes ups and downs. If some of your member can not walk for long distance especially in hot weather, Please let me know. We will use taxi when it is needed (fee for cab is on participants).
・Please wear comfortable shoes resilient for long distance.
・Please wear sunglasses, hat, or sun parasol.
・The start time can be changed up to 13:00, but I recommend to do this tour in the morning to avoid strong sun in daytime during summer.

“unforgettable 4 hours tour”
Kaori is very nice and lovely person. I booked 4 hours tour to Tokyo Skytree and around Asakusa area. We arrived in the evening time. Unfortunately, it was raining all day in Tokyo. When we entered Tokyo Skytree, we couldn't see anything from above :(. Kaori brought us to Senso-ji temple and we had dinner in a very nice restaurant. Kaori has a good knowledge in Japan history. If I go to Tokyo again next time, I will book definitely book her!!
