*We will visit this temple only when you can walk for about 20 minutes from Hokokuji temple to Hachiman shrine.
This is the Kamakura shogunate government's most important shrine, and the most visited shrine in Kamakura in modern times too. You can encounter a wedding procession or other Shinto related rituals being held there! For art lovers, they have Kamakura National Treasure Museum in its compound. Most of them are very historical assets of Kamakura.
You can go through this street to go back to the JR Kamakura station. The street is lined up with small gift shops, sweets shops, cafes and restaurants. It would be a shame to leave without seeing this street!
Kotokuin's Great Buddha has been sitting there for about 700 years, and a symbol of Kamakura. It is designated as a national treasure and definitely a must see spot!
This temple is popular for its beautiful flowers and gardens. Throughout a year, beautiful flowers and colored leaves welcome visitors. (64 reviews)Thank you for the great review. It was very exciting for me to tour with you two, both of whom are fans of Japanese anime and studying Japanese. You listened intently to my explanation of various aspects of Japanese history and culture too. It was a pleasure to be your guide. I am relieved that the typhoon passed through safely. Please enjoy your trip to the end! And please come back to Japan again soon! Eiko
“Now it’s also my favourite Hakone!”
Even before we booked this tour, Eiko was helpful via messages about what to see etc. she also gave us a breakfast spot to meet in Odawara! Hakone is beautiful and this tour really let us enjoy the beauty. Eiko even managed to get us to the sights before all the crowds so our photos are amazing! She was also very interactive with our son, making sure he was occupied the whole time. At one stage we actually thought she might’ve worn him out!! Eiko also went that one step further and helped us back to the station and booked our Shinkansen tickets for our onward trip! A must do your if you’re in Hakone (with Eiko of course!)

(64 reviews)Thank you for the wonderful review! I am so glad to know you enjoyed the tour. It is said that the early bird gets the worm, and the beautiful Lake Ashi and the red torii gate standing on the lake in the early morning when there were few people around were exceptional! And we saw Mt. Fuji too!! I was very happy too. You three are a very nice family and I felt like a Japanese grandma. :-) Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your family's important trip. And I hope you will come to Japan again in the near future! Take care! Eiko
