Tsukiji Fish Market is one of the top tourist district destination in Tokyo, as many as 42,000 visitors a day! It consists of two main areas-the inner market and the outer market. Tokyo governor decided to relocate the inner market to Toyosu new market in the next year, 2018. It might be your first and last chance to visit there! We will go to both places. The inner market is the wholesale market for the professionals where about 480 kinds of marine products are traded. You can have a close look at various kinds of fish and shellfish like tuna, eel, octopus, sea urchin and more! There are about 800 small family-run retail shops in the inner market, each shop has own specialty selling foods like tuna, eel and so on. So you can enjoy seeing from many different things not only merchandises but also workers, shops, and the human interactions in Tsukiji. Inside the market, intricate narrow streets are like a maze but I'll take you anywhere you're interested in safely.
In the outer market, there are about 400 retail shops which are open to the public. Almost all kinds of Japanese ingredients can be found here.
This is like a kitchen of Japanese cuisine. You can buy Japanese food, seasonings, tea, knives, dishware wrapping goods and so on. Of course you can taste and eat fresh seafood here.
Tsukiji is a must-see place in Japan. I truly recommend you to join this tour and experience the traditional Japanese food culture!
The combination of this tour and Making Sushi program is great, but please note that I can only accept the offer three days before your tour date.
Reminder!
*If you have small children, please let me know in advance. Many Cars, trucks and turret trucks run in the inner market and the market is generally for the professionals, not for tourists. In some cases, I will take you only to the Outer Market and Namiyoke shrine for your children's safety concern.

“Great experience!”
Purchased a tour with Yukiko for my father-in-law for Christmas. It was a fun experience and brought back a lot of memories of his travels there, but also interesting to see what has changed. Really nice to be able to travel from home when it’s more difficult due to age or health to do so in-person. Yukiko was such a great guide, very attentive in the planning process and knowledgeable. Thank you so much!

(214 reviews)I'm really happy to hear your review of my live virtual tour! What I want to do as a guide is introducing about my city Tokyo, including Japanese culture, history, lifestyle for more a wide range of people in the world, not only for my guests in person. I have a background of being a nurse and met many people who have mobility issues by some reasons. This experience prompted me to start this virtual tour, connect Japan and their home via online and show my guest what's going on right now in Tokyo. I do several different areas in Tokyo on virtual, if you'd like, please join it again! Thank you so much!!
“Family visit to Tokyo ”
My family and I were visiting Japan from the USA. We have a friend that recommended Yukiko and I’m so glad she did! Yukiko is a wonderful guide! She had wonderful communication with us leading up to our trip, she listened to all the things we wanted to to do and see while in Tokyo, and when she had suggestions for the itinerary that didn’t seem to fit our family she quickly changed the plans. She had wonderful recommendations of things to do even after we were done with our tour and on other days of our trip. She made getting around the city on the subway and JR Line super easy and helped us get comfortable with it so we could easily do it ourselves later in our trip. Yukiko went above and beyond on service, communication, and execution. Her English is superb and she works well with children (our kids are 17, 15, 13, & 10). She is incredibly organized and knows her city. I highly recommend Yukiko when booking your personalized tour around Tokyo.
