Tomoko is vey good guide. We really had a great time.
Thank you for your great review just after the tour, Shiori-san. I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed the day in Enoshima & Kamakura. I felt blessed sharing great time with your group and working with you. Anytime you plan business trip, feel free to contact me. Looking forward to working with you again:)
We had a delightful time exploring Tokyo with Tomoko. She is very knowledgeable and fun! Great for history buffs! Highly recommend her tour!
Thank you for your great review, Janice. Glad to hear you enjoyed the walking tour. Yes, we walked a lot visiting lots of beautiful historical spots and experienced seasonal fun and culture. I really enjoyed talking with you and Judy on various topics. I’m sure you’ve had more experiences in Kyoto and will in Nagano? Thank you again and hope to see you again.
We had a large group of people but Tomoko very skillfully managed to keep us all togther as we made our way around to the various sites using the train system. Tomoko was a mountain of knowledge and we all enjoyed our day with Tomoko very much.
Hi Paul! Thank you so much for the great review and for all your cooperation and positive views(even running for the museum together) while touring around the busy market and downtowns. I really enjoyed the beautiful day with you all ? Please tell my gratitude to your brother, Mark, about giving me the opportunities to share our culture and history by his asking a lot of spontaneous questions on the way. Best wishes to you, your family, and your friends.
I could tell just by listening to Tomoko's video that she was the person for us. She had a lovely personality and after only being with her for an hour or so, you felt that you had known her for a long time. She took us to some amazing places that no one on their first visit to Tokyo would ever know about. The metro system is very confusing and her knowledge of that was brilliant. I had asked for her to take us for a suchi lunch and she did take us to a really lovely restaurant. We also had some street food with her at the end of the day. She also took a lot of photos of us which she sent to us when she returned home. I fully recommend Tomoko as a guide, she was wonderful.
Thank you for your great review and for finding me out as your Tokyo guide at the first stage of your MYSTERY tour to Asia. Oh, thank you also for assisting me to collect stamps there, hahaha. Although the weather was not much favorable, we laughed a lot and enjoyed many places, such as the traditional garden, Imperial Palace, Ginza, Asakusa, Shinjuku as well as the sushi place and the narrow Yakitori street. I’m sure you will be blessed with lots of happiness this year, 2020! Hope to see you again, Ian & Anne?
I will start by saying that our day spent with Tomoko felt like a day visiting a good friend. We started off our Japan trip with Tomoko and it was one of the most memorable. I was very hesitant to commit to anything because I have 2 small children aged 5 and 7. There is a lot of walking involved as a tourist throughout Japan and this often was difficult to manage with my 5 year old. Tomoko helped ease these fears by being so incredibly flexible with her schedule and also adding in some spontaneous fun and rest time for the children. Not only that, she came prepared with written material consisting of timelines of Japanese eras with their significance - I referred to these papers throughout our stay in Japan!! She did a wonderful job in giving me a quick overview of the art history too - ... read more
Thank you for your passionate, detailed, great review, Shivani ? I’m glad to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your whole trip in Japan and are now settled at home. Depending on the family age, status, and the taste of each member, what we can enjoy will be varied. You love art and history, and your husband has great tastes in best food and advanced technology, while your adorable children are fond of crafts, animals, and trains! Shibuya and Harajuku are very fun places, but I just thought wondering there after visiting so many other places must be exhausting to your little ones. I’m very much proud of your hard work for research, preparation, and arrangement as a mother. Thank you again for sharing fun and heart-warming time with you all. Best wishes to you, Shivani, Rishi, Aasha, and Nirvaan. ... read more
Tomoko met us in our Tokyo hotel & travelled to Hakone area with us. She made the transfers easy. We had a wonderful day with Tomoko providing lots of local knowledge. She doubled checked any information I had given her about our hotel & baggage transfer without prompting. I would highly recommend Tomoko particularly if a group - much better than organised tours. Thank you again Tomoko
Thank you for your great review, Tonya. It’s my pleasure to make tours perfectly fit to the needs of each party. Thank you also for bringing us the perfect weather, which is something I cannot control by double-checking ? Excursion to Hakone is very susceptible and changeable to all different conditions, such as weather(wind, rain and snow), traffic, geological situations, and typhoon damage last year, etc. So, even if we prepare, some unexpected thing can happen. I appreciate all your cooperation and it was a very memorable day for me, too. Hope you enjoy all the rest of your journey in Japan, Tonya, Simon, Jade, and Skye⛄
We enjoyed the time with Tomoko. She is knowledgeable and very organised. Mt Fuji is so beautiful in a clear day! Toshogu Shrine is a must visit place, not only the amazing architecture and decoration, but also the beautiful natural surroundings. Local foods are delicious thanks to Tomoko’s recommendation.
Thank you for taking your time to post such a nice review, Amy. Glad to hear you enjoyed the two big excursion to Mt. Fuji (Lake area) and Nikko. I’m impressed with the way you prepared for your family trip and it was my great pleasure to work with you. I hope you get recharged and your children had fun skiing after our tours. Best wishes to you, Emily, and Kevin?
Highly recommend Tomoko. As first time visitors to Tokyo with Tomoko we covered many and varied aspects of Tokyo. As a large group of 14 (4 adults and 8 older children) Tomoko did a great job engaging with us all and confidently helping us access some very busy areas of Tokyo. We were also lucky enough to see and do some things we never would have experienced without Tomoko. Tomoko was also very responsive leading up to our trip and while we were in Tokyo. Thankyou Tomoko!!
Thank you for your great review, Sean. It was my great pleasure to share the 2 fun days with you all. Yes, we covered so many places from the market, shrines & temples, Imperial Palace, busy downtowns & the cemetery, Samurai place and commoners’ town of old times, and so and so. I greatly appreciate all of your cooperation, even of your children when they needed to wait patiently for the ticket booking, as without it, the tour would not have been that much smooth and fun. Thank you again and the best wishes to your friends and family.
We had the most amazing time with Tomoko! We spent 2 days with her, the first day in Tokyo and the second day in Hakone. This is a review of our Tokyo tour. She gave us a wonderful tour of Tokyo, with added history and cultural insights of Japanese people. We hit the major spots (Tokyo tower, sky tree, Hamarikyu garden, Tsukiji open market, Odaiba, rainbow bridge, Asakusa and Senso-ji-ji temple, Owl museum, Shibuya, etc). She is very organized but accommodated our requests on the fly. She is very personable and put us at ease the minute we met her. It was like touring with a very knowledgeable family friend. She was also very helpful in getting our Suica cards, understanding the transportation system and showing us how to get to certain places on our own after the tour as we ran out of tim... read more
Thank you for your great review, Soledad. Thank you also for letting me join the 2-day fun holiday excursion of your family. As you mentioned above, we did a lot in Tokyo and enjoyed varied experiences from traditional things to pop, trendy ones. The second day was also unforgettable. We are blessed with the great view of Mt. Fuji later in the afternoon and the relaxing Onsen at the end. Thank you for all your suggestions in advance and on the day. I hope you enjoy the rest of your days in Japan. Wishing you the best to you all, Soledad, Roy, Isabella, and Olivia? Arogato-gozaimashita & Matane! (Thank you and see you again!)
We had an enjoyable and informative full day Kamakura tour (ex-Tokyo) with Tomoko. She has excellent English and extensive knowledge. We enjoyed her company and we highly recommend her as an excellent reliable guide.
Thank you for posting such a nice review, Margaret! Yes, we were blessed with perfect autumn weather and enjoyed the ancient temple with its beautiful bamboo garden and the shrine with many adorable Japanese children in kimono for their celebration, and of course, the Great Buddha and its nearby Jodo temple. I’m sure you enjoyed the rest of the stay in Japan. Thank you again, Margaret and Brian ?
Tomoko communicated with us before we arrived and as soon as we arrived in Japan. She created a detailed itinerary based on our interests. Everyday she gave us a recap of what, where and when we did that day, plus a plethora of pictures she had taken of us. It would have been very difficult to navigate the train schedules and stations as newcomers. We feel that we saw twice as much with the help of Tomoko, than if we had gone alone. Tomoko brought us to some awesome local restaurants where we were the only tourists. The food was excellent and the owners very welcoming. Tomoko is a wealth of knowledge and has years of experience as a guide and teacher. We wanted to visit areas that were not normal tourist stops, so she walked with us through back roads and educated us on the Japan... read more
Thank you for your great review, Mark. I really enjoyed guiding you and your daughter. As you both are interested in history and great walkers, we covered more than usual such as Sugimotodera temple, the oldest one in Kamakura. Your inquiries on not just about history but current issues inspired me a lot. Next time you come to Japan, I will definitely take you to the Tempra restaurant again for dinner ? My best regards to you, your adorable girl, Ella, and all your family. Thank you again!
Tomoko was punctual. She was organised and planned a great day for us! We were able to see and get a lot done! She took us to the Hakone Shrine, the boat cruise and the volcanic beds. She even gave a lot of advice on what food and souvenirs to get. Would greatly recommend her service to anyone who is travelling to Hakone area.
Thank you for your great review, Teng-san. We were blessed with perfect weather with clear air and shared a lot of beautiful sights of Hakone, Mt. Fuji, and Sagami Bay, which is not always the case. I won’t forget the fun conversation I had with your smart, lovely, inquisitive daughter, Sophie. Best wishes to you and your family. Thank you again. ?
Tomoko made the trip wonderful. She was helpful even beforehand. Prompt in her replies no matter the time zone or even on weekends. Her service was excellent. She also had back up plans in case weather etc created issues. She was organized and informative. Ask for her to guide you!
Thank you for letting me join part of your special family trip to Japan, and for the great review, Chris! I really enjoyed showing you around Tokyo before your cruise and seeing you again at Yokohama port after the cruise to take you to Kamakura before your flight. The adorable children we saw at Meiji shrine wearing Kimono for their special occasion, the beautiful chrysanthemum flowers in Shinjuku Gyoen, Great Buddha, the beautiful view from Hasedera, and finally, the view of Mt. Fuji… I'll never forget the fun moments shared with you all. Best wishes to you, Kim, Phyllis, Gary, and all of your family.?
We highly recommend Tomoko. Her organized and yet flexible approach to planning and leading our 1/2 day experience with her made it one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo. Every person in our group of 5 wished we had been able to spend more time with her. Despite our limited time, we did not feel rushed as she helped us make the most of each site, pointing out and explaining specific and unique historic as well as cultural details we might otherwise have missed. She shared lots of information, including photos and other visual information before and after the tour. Tomoko’s genuine interest in other people, her knowledge and enthusiasm for historic and current aspects of Japanese culture AND her sense of humor made her made her an excellent guide for our group.
Thank you for taking your time to post such a nice review, Susan. Yes, I also wished that we could spend more time together! Even though our time was limited, I appreciated it that you clarified what you had done already, where you would visit later, your major interest and what you would not be able to miss before the tour and even during the tour. It’s amazing that we DID cover all those venues without rush, such as Kanda Myojin, Origami Center, Yushima Tenjin, Yanaka, and part of Tokyo National Museum in only 5 hours while enjoying the local Italian restaurant. Thank you again for sharing fun time with you and your great company, Bill, Anne, Pam and Addison. Best wishes! ?
we spent a wonderful exiting relaxing day with tomoko. struggling around in yanaka and ueno, looking at temples, shops, different surroundings, cementary, learning a lot of tokyos history. eating soba noodles and sake in a small nontouristic place. we love tomoko.
Thank you for your warm review and for sharing relaxing Saturday together, Daniela and Peter. We did not visit many places but I’m glad you enjoyed strolling around and appreciating the local areas of Nezu, Yanaka, and Ueno. We were lucky to see the Japanese family event of ‘7-5-3,’ and so many adorable young children dressed up in Kimono! Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and the Tokyo National Museum fully. With love – Tomoko?
Tomoko was not only knowledgeable and responsive, she was also very kind and fun and empathetic. We could tell she really wanted us to learn about and have a great experience in Tokyo and Japan. We have had good guides in other countries but she was the best ever! Highly recommended.
Thank you for posting such a nice review just after we departed! I really enjoyed every moment shared with you and Joan, all the gardens, flowers, Koi fish, birds, Buddhist temples and statues, food, brightly lit downtown, and such and such. Above all, I enjoyed the conversation with you two. I’m impressed with your choice of accommodation and the way to acclimate yourself to different culture. I feel very my blessed to talk with you Joan? Thank you again, Don and Joan. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan.
We toured 2 days with Tomoko, in Tokyo and Kamakura. She is an excellent guide and an incredibly nice person! Knowledgeable, flexible, open-minded. We learnt a lot! Kamakura being her childhood place it added a very personal feeling to all the experience. Thank you Tomoko:))
Thank you for the two fun and beautiful days, Svetlana and Lemy! I’m so glad you enjoyed the days, too. We explored a little hidden places both in Tokyo and Kamakura. As your interests were varied and spontaneous, we could experience a lot unexpected. I will never forget the beautiful sunset of Kamakura beach and the tides and water we dipped our legs into. :) ありがとうございました。とてもたのしかったです。またね！（Thank you very much. That was so much fun. See you again!）
Tomko guided us for 2 days in Tokyo (3 adults from Israel) . She showed us the city in the best way with her great knowledge. We learned so much, and had the opportunity to see things that we would never see without her guidance. In addition, her excitment and love to the city is well felt, and added to the whole experience. We recommend Tomko's guidance to anyone who wants to have a significant trip in Tokyo.
Thank you for your great review, Alon. I really enjoyed the company of you and your lovely children. The weather on our first day was not quite favorable, but we did a lot both outdoors and indoors, from the jam-packed train and downtown to calm, quiet local districts. The coffee cheered us up! It was also fun to learn a little bit about each other’s culture and languages. I’m also glad that you found the perfect souvenir for your wife at the last moment of our tour. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and see you again in the future. Thank you Alon, Kim, and Idan.?
We had two amazing days with Tomoko. We are a group of 8 range from 6 yo to 77 yo. It was the best decision ever to have Tomoko to meet us at the airport on early morning. She helped to send our luggages to Kyoto and Tokyo hotels, activated our JR pass, SUICA cards and sort out our light snacks at 7-11- and not forgetting to teach us how to unwrap the rice balls. We spent the first day at Asakusa, UENO and Akihabara. Tomoko is well-verse in English, have such fun and warm character. She got all information and pamphlets I needed for subway, and places I would like to go. Tomoko guided us to Hakone on the second day. Despite the drizzle in the morning, everything went so well, we covered a lot in a day and had a clear and serene view of Mt Fuji in the afternoon. It was lovely tha... read more
Thank you for your super-detailed review, Katherine. It reminds me of every sweet moment we shared in Tokyo and Hakone.? It was my great pleasure to spend the two days with your extended 3 generation family. I loved the way all five different-aged children in your family with different interests enjoyed what they liked while making some mutual concessions naturally. Great mom, dad, and grandma! I will not forget the beautiful moments shared with you in Hakone and the skateboard! I’m sincerely wishing for the recovery of our beautiful Hakone severely damaged by the typhoon and the rain. Thank you again and looking forward to seeing you all again, Ewan, Sukie, James, Lachlan, Mercedes, Woon, Aaron, and Katherine!
Our family of three had an absolutely wonderful full day tour of Tokyo with Tomoko. She is highly personable, knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. Our tour was conducted under somewhat challenging circumstances in that it took place the day following a major typhoon in Japan, which necessitated some changes in scheduling and itinerary. In addition, my wife has a mobility impairment which limits our itinerary to some extent. Tomoko fashioned an itinerary that was highly responsive to these limitations and the different interests of all of us. We have already booked an additional tour with her at the conclusion of our cruise. We have taken private tours in a number of ports over the years and never found a better guide. She is most highly recommended. Martin S.
Thank you so much for your great review, Martin. I really appreciate all your patience, flexibility, and understanding you showed in the unusual situation. Our fun tour was a result of the great collaboration of us all including our very kind driver. I’m proud of Cindy’s great effort walking all through Ueno Park constantly smiling. Impressed with the beautiful pics Stephanie took as well ? I’m planning to make your next tour enjoyable and memorable again, so keep in touch. Enjoy your cruise and looking forward to seeing you again in November!.
Had such a great time with Tomoko! She has such a warm, vibrant personality and makes all the information she imparts interesting, colourful and memorable. She took us to taste “the best of” various foods we’d been wanting to try and just wish we could have fit it more! Tomoko made the day so much fun! What a delightful way to see Tokyo!
Thank you so much for your sweet review, Michele? I cannot forget your adorable face with pleasant surprise when you took a bite of every new thing you tried! It was just like the good luck hammer you got for sister. Every time you hit (bite), fortunes and happiness pop out! Thank you again for sharing the great day, Michele and Chris. Hope to see you again♪
Once acquainted with Tomoko, my husband and I knew we were in great hands. She toured us around the Asakusa area of Tokyo, the Ueno gardens and Sensoji Temple, and Tomoko’s insight was as wonderful as her company. On day two, Tomoko led us on a fantastic adventure to Hakone that included time at a beautiful onsen. We had such a good time (Tomoko included), and it felt like my husband and I were on vacation with a (very knowledgeable) friend. If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo, don’t hesitate to book Tomoko as your guide. Like us, you’ll be so glad that you did.
Thank you for your great review, and most of all, for sharing the memorable two days together, Laura and Paul. It was a kind of accident, but I’m glad you enjoyed Kappabashi, the kitchen-goods street. I really enjoyed talking with you over lunch and at Onsen, which I’m sure you feel the same. I will not forget you rescued me getting off the bus on the way, the relaxing time at Onsen and the beauty of its garden shared with you. ‘Ah Gokuraku, Gokuraku ♨‘（Ah, paradise, paradise）. Thank you so much! ?
Our family had a wonderful time enjoying the highlights of Tokyo and Nikko, we were so fortunate to have Tomoko to help us enjoy this experience. Meeting Tomoko was like meeting a friend, such a thoughtful caring person, who has a genuine interest in sharing her passion of Japan with visitors. We appreciated her knowledge of history and the fact that she was able to help us navigate our way around so seamlessly. Had fun visiting some local areas and trying the local fare. Thank you Tomoko, we certainly had a memorable time, lots of laughs and we would not hesitate to book again or recommend Tomoko. The O’Rourke family- Tasmania
Thank you for sharing the fun 3 days together and for your great review. I’m so happy that you enjoyed Tokyo highlights and the excursion to Nikko by Shinkanesen? I’m proud that Frances walked a lot and adventurously tasted many different kinds of Japanese food! I hope you enjoy the cruise and visiting many other areas of Japan. Very much looking forward to seeing you again, Andrea, and Frances♪
It was great to go on tour on our first day in Japan with Tomoko to immerse ourselves in the Japanese culture. Japan is an amazing country! Tomoko is very knowledgeable about the sights we visited. She is very friendly and helpful. Thank you Tomoko for a lovely tour and making it so special.
Thank you for your great review and, above all, letting me join your special anniversary trip to Japan, Dominique. I was impressed that you had prepared your trip so well. At this time, I’m sure you and Craig have visited many cities and become the expert travelers in Japan!! Your children are lucky! Wishing you have more fun and discoveries while you stay in Japan.
We planned a day trip to Chigasaki and Kanagawa Prefecture with Tomoko in mid September. This was a excellent fun tour and she showed us many interesting cultural and notable highlights of the areas we visited. Tomoko handled all the details of the trip and gave us a very personalized and entertaining day trip. Tomoko is an excellent guide and is extremely knowledgeable about many cultural and historical aspects of Japan. We plan to go with her again.
Thank you for your great review, Bruce, or Michael. The day to Chigasaki, Fujisawa, and Kamakura with you two was a very memorable one for me, too. It means a lot for all of us to visit the places with some special importance only for you. Thank again for letting me join the pilgrimage of you and Theresa. Very much looking forward to seeing you again :)
We had the best day. Tomoko was wonderful and flexible. We loved every minute. We changed our plans at the last minute and she accommodated all of them. We chose this tour so we could do what we wanted, rather than the usual tourist route and she was fabulous in showing us places locals go. I highly recommend this tour with Tomoko
Thank you for taking the great review, Rachel! I’m glad you enjoyed the tour and you shared your tastes and interests in advance. I love tailored tours myself and it is quite usual we find something unexpected while traveling, which is the most exciting, fun part of traveling! They said, ‘Three women should not get together as they speak too loud,’ on my fortune paper. It might be true as our tour of 3 ladies was exceptionally fun and hilarious!! Haha? Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan, Rachel and Kate.
Tomoko is a lovely lady who knows the area well. My husband loved spending the day with her. Due to rain we had to make some changes in our plans but the alternative places were very interesting. She gave us a good feel for the culture and history of the people and sites. We traveled a lot on the subway which was fascinating, clean and efficient. Excellent experience.
Thank you very much for your great review, Cindy and Dave. I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the whole day and the subway even though it rained intermittently. I was impressed by your energy and interest just after a long flight. You seem to have breathed in a lot of oxygen of Tokyo :) Someday, I would like to visit Colorado and enjoy the great nature ? Thank you again!
Tomoko went above and beyond! We learned so much. Teaching came so naturally to her and she answered all of our questions with bonus information. She has a great sense of humor and warm hospitality. She showed us the transit system, local customs and welcomed us like old friends visiting her hometown for the first time.
Thank you for your great review, Taylor. It was so much fun for me, too, to share wonderful time with an inquisitive couple like you! Lots of spontaneous questions and some requests from you on the way made our tour interactive, and I learned a lot through it. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you and laughing together again, Taylor and Joe ?
Tomoko was absolutely so professional and timely responding to my emails, and I appreciated all her suggestions. I knew my adult son and I would have a great tour- and we did! She met us promptly in the lobby of our hotel and we started our fantastic day at the Tsukiji Market. It was so fun because Tomoko knew everything about all the food, and seemed to be friends with so many vendors. She soon became our friend, too. She has so much knowledge and is a gifted story teller. We appreciated her energy, and she tried to keep us in the shade- it was quite hot. We loved the lotus flowers on the pond, and had fun exploring the Nezu Shrine and barely fitting through the little Tori Gates (my son is over 6ft tall). Then we had a traditional Japanese lunch at a beautiful restaurant. Tomoko did her ... read more
Thank you for your great review, Becky! I'm so surprised and happy as well that you remember all the moments we shared so clearly.:) As you told me know what you would have done before our tour such as the bike tour and baseball game, I planned and tried to show you something different, the venues you could reach only on foot and with some local human touch! I'm glad it seems to have worked :) Thank you also for your honest view for the lunch time. My best wishes to you and your family!
Tomoko made our first 2 days in Tokyo so easy. She guided us through the subways to both old and new Tokyo. We enjoyed lovely shrines and temples, shopping areas, and cultural places. Tomoko was cheerful and knowledgeable as she shared this amazing city.
Thank you so much for the great review, Barbara! I’m happy to hear that I was of some help for the adventurous, jolly family like yours? I was amazed that Alison showed great interest in ‘Bakumatsu,’ the shifting period from Samurai era to modern Japan. I’m sure you will all enjoy your visit to Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka. Thank you again for the great time shared with you, Richard, and Alison.
This brief tour was arranged to be a short introduction to Tokyo, Japan with a small tour at a site near our hotel. Tomoko met us at the airport, helped us get our luggage shipped to our hotel in Kyoto, exchange our JR vouchers for passes and secure tickets for ALL of our JR rail trips on our 9-day trip in Japan, helped us get to our first hotel, etc. I simply cannot imagine doing this while jet lagged without Tomoko! She was precious upon meeting her and greeted us both with a huge hug, which was quite the surprise but so appreciated, and the positives just kept going from there! She was invaluable and worth every cent! We attempted to tour the underground area of the Tokyo Station where there is a maze of endless restaurants, shops, vendors, etc. She realized quickly that my hu... read more
Thank you so much for the great review with your experiences, Rachael! Yes, I was so excited to see you at Haneda airport after 7 months of message exchange in advance. It was as if I saw my old friend after a long absence. Thank you for sharing so many memorable moments together with you and Mike. I was so happy and relieved to see Mike had recovered when we met again and genuinely enjoyed Sumo, the car museum, and beer & sake ? Great summer days! I miss you, too ?
Although Tomoko does a great job of explaining the sights, what we really valued were her insights into Japanese daily life. We had a terrific experience - recommended.
Thank you for your great review, Gill. Actually, the insightful questions and comments of yours and Rod’s broadened my view as well. I appreciate that. - Arigato-gozaimas from side streets ? Tomoko
I only have good words for Tomoko.. warm, friendly, knowledgeable and gracious. She offered in depth info about each place we visit.. always looking out for our comfort and flexible with the itinerary.. we were able to cover so many places in one day and the tour was just worth it.. will book her again !
Thank you so much for the great review for the tour yesterday, Mercy! It was a hot, humid day with occasional rain, but I’m glad you enjoyed the tour visiting the temple, the garden after the cruise, the origami place, the shrine and downtown popular among anime lovers! I felt happy when I saw your daughters got energized again there. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan. Please make sure not to leave anything behind and to wear your shoes_ hahaha ? Looking forward to seeing you again, dear Mercy, Charlie, Cheriess, Isaiah, and Angela.
We had a very short amount of time after our cruise to see a few sights in Tokyo. Tomoko setup a few sites for us and arranged an excellent driver for us. We would definitely use Tomoko again when/if we return to Tokyo when we have more time.
Thank you for your great review, Greg! I’m glad you made the best of your limited time in Tokyo. Yes, our driver was very kind and professional Thank you also for your request, which expanded my experience. Looking forward to seeing you again, Greg and Donna ?
What an incredible first day we just spent in Tokyo with our wonderful tour guide Tomoko. She tailored our day as we requested to include both some history of the city and shrines, as well as the busy shopping areas and the train system. She has a great knowledge of Tokyo and it was an absolute pleasure to spend our day with her learning about Japan. She speaks excellent English and was great at helping us communicate ******* as we navigated the city. We would highly recommend Tomoko to anyone visiting Tokyo and ready for a great day in the city. Tony & Cassidy - Golden, Colorado
Thank you so much for your great review just after the tour, Tony. It was my great pleasure and honor to show you around the city of Tokyo on your first day. Thank you for showing great interest in our history and culture. Starting with both sides of Shinjuku station, we visited the forestry Meiji shrine, explored the different phases of Harajuku town including adorable creatures, Shibuya town, the supermarket, and above all, your daughter’s favorite district! Her knowledge and passion about the figures and anime and her artistic talent impressed me a lot! Thank you, Cassidy, and wishing you have a fruitful autumn semester in Japan. Looking forward to hearing from you again?
We spent 1.5 days in Tokyo (on 10th and 11th of July, 2019) with Tomoko as a private guide. In all honesty, we've have been impressed by her knowledgeable comments, as well as friendly and kind attitude. We also appreciate a great deal of flexibility Tomoko shown in tailoring the program of the tour to our individual interests and circumstances. Not less important, she was very helpful in providing a valuable advice on the practical aspects of being in Tokyo, such as using a transportation system, shopping and eating. We have no hesitation in recommending Tomoko to everybody who considers hiring a private guide in Tokyo. Michael & Faina T.
Thank you for your heart-warming review, Michael & Faina! Glad to hear what I did was helpful for your further stay in Japan. I was impressed by your story I heard at Imperial Palace site. That was very insightful about general human history and the history of where you are originally from. The view we shared at the observatory in Shinjuku is also unforgettable. Thank you again and the best wishes to you and your family. – Tomoko?
Travelling with family for first time to Japan time spent on first day with Tomoko was so useful. She was great fun, informative & knowledgable. Had a really good day. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
Thank you for the great review, Nick. I’m glad the guiding on your first day in Tokyo was helpful for you to map out your whole stay with special purpose. It was a very hot day, but I won’t forget the taste of refreshing gelato shared with you and the happy smile of Charlie when we succeeded in finding THAT! SIM, SIM, SIM♪(^^♪ Best wishes to you, Helen, Katie, Charlie, and Dom!
Our day with Tomoko was the most packed and fun day of our trip. She took us to excellent places to eat and very interesting locations throughout Tokyo. It was a very hot/humid day with some rain so she was flexible in where we went so that we were all comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed our trip and when we come back to Japan we will definitely look her up again for another location.
Hi Nicole and Matt! Thank you for taking your time to write a review and share your experience. The weather was changeable that day, but we did a lot. I’m proud of your challenges about the food quite new to you. I’m wondering where to take you and what to serve you next time you come to Japan? Take care and best wishes to you two.
We spent 2 fantastic days touring Tokyo with Tomoko. She planned an interesting and varied itinerary and recommended terrific restaurants. She was kind enough to purchase tickets for Borderless Team Lab (light museum) 2 months before our arrival on her own credit card so we would not have to wait in a long line on the day of our tour. She also took great pictures of our group which she emailed to us at the end of our tour. Tomoko is a lovely person who knows Tokyo extremely well. We would recommend her without reservation. In fact, we can hardly wait to spend a 3rd day with Tomoko at the end of our cruise when we will return to Tokyo.
Thank you for your great review just after the tour, Jacqueline. Thank you all for sharing great time with me. You had given me a lot of clues and assistance when I planned the itinerary. In the incredible heat, we did a lot touring Asakusa, Tsukiji market, Hedgehog and late art café, the shrine of success, Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace Garden, and the digital museum! I’m excited to see you all again and share another half day together in 12 days. Enjoy your cruise ? Enjoy swimming, Laila?
Tomoko is a very nice guide, she is very knowledgeable and nice with our kids. She speaks very well English. We have seen a lot of things throughout Tokyo. For the kids it was a long day (it was very hot) with a lot of walking. Suggestion for the next tour with kids in these hot summer days is to concentrate on a limited number of areas so there is less travel time and more time to enjoy the activities. The kids liked tomoko very much.
Hi Jos! Thank you for your great review and helpful suggestion. Yes, it was an incredibly hot day, and I’m sure your children got tired. It’s true that, in this hot season, what counts is not to cover all the destinations planned but to be more flexible thinking of the heat, walking time, and our physical condition. Hoping you have relaxing time on the beach. Thank you again. Best wishes to you, Annelies, Hugo, Jildou, Blanca, and Amber?
Tomoko was both professional and energetic. Had a wonderful two days touring around with her.
Hi Shan! Thank you so much for your prompt review. Yes, we had two great days in Tokyo and Nikko. Although it rained sometimes, we enjoyed beautiful nature as well as culture in both cities. Above all, we enjoyed varieies of good local food :) Thank you again for sharing great time with me. Best wishes to you and Abel.
We could not have asked for a better guide to teach us everything we needed to know to best enjoy our 4 days in Tokyo. From local restaurants to the train system to culture to history to religion....the list goes on! Tomoko is a wonderful guide and great person!
Thank you for taking your time to write such a nice review. It was my great pleasure to share all the tips with you and get the feedback from you the next day or later how you enjoyed your own exploration. I will never forget the fun moments shared with you in the rainy garden of Meiji Jingu, at the café with adorable creatures, and the local bar and restaurant! Looking forward to seeing you again either in Tokyo or in your place. Best wishes to you, Jacqueline and Darin?
Thanks to Tomoko, the travels around Tokyo with our aged parents were a breeze! Extremely enthusiastic, humourous, spontaneous and helpful - highly recommended!
Thank you so much for sharing hilarious two days and for posting the great review just a moment after the tour. We enjoyed suburban cities like Kamakura, Yokohama, and Kawagoe in Saitama as well as tasty soba, unagi, sushi, and yakitori. We laughed a lot together with your husband and your SWEET parents ? They are so SWEET. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you again.
My family had a wonderful experience with Tomoko. We decided on a day trip to Kamakura. Tomoko knows Tokyo and the Kamakura area inside and out. She provides fantastic insights and caters the time with her clients to their interests. We also loved that Tomoko is a foodie like us so we talked a lot about Japanese cuisine and she had great recommendations. She brought us to a gem of a spot for lunch, not a place we would easily find ourselves. She was also terrific and especially engaging with our 10 year old daughter. We would recommend her in a heartbeat (by far the best guide we had on our trip), and plan to use her in the future.
Hi John! Thank you for your great review and the great time shared in Enoshima & Kamakura. Yes, we are all foodies and we enjoyed a lot of good food together. I’m always trying to find out some local restaurants, which are not too fancy but where the food quality is good, and the people are friendly. ? I really enjoyed the company of your sweet daughter. She is so inquisitive and responsive. Next time you come to Japan, I will show you some other beautiful, interesting spots as well as yummy places. Cannot wait! My best wishes to you, Joanna, Evelyn, Vani and her family. Take care!
Really great guide. So hands on with her customers.
Thank you for introducing your clients from the beautiful country of Croatia to me. I’m so glad that they enjoyed the day in Tokyo. It was good for both of us to talk about their interest and the itinerary again just after we meet in the morning before starting our tour. That was a great work of collaboration. Thank you?
Just a bit into the tour, It felt like we were touring with family. We had so much fun and learned a lot! If we could, we would have loved to spend more time with Tomoko. I highly recommend booking Tomoko for your tours. When we come back to Tokyo we will book Tomoko again!
Thank you so much for taking your time to write such a great review, Margaret. The day was a great fun for me, too. Starting coincidentally from the college I graduated, we enjoyed the quiet, beautiful garden in the morning, the grand Shoguns place, business lunch, and slipped into commoners’ life in a few centuries ago. After viewing the Olympic site 2020, the cute animal café and the colorful Harajuku town was our grand finale. I really enjoyed the questions and the lovely smile of your daughter, Zoe. Thank you again and looking forward to seeing you all again.?
Tomoko was an amazing guide. She was very flexible with our family because we had our sixth month old daughter with us. In addition to showing us our top places in a Tokyo she also found me places to nurse and change diapers along the way. She even went out of her way to take us to the Children’s library so our daughter could have some play and stretch out time. She could answer all our questions and was very knowledgeable about Japanese culture, food, history and current topics. Would re immense to anyone!
Thank you for taking your time to write such a nice review just after the tour, Amanda. That was my great pleasure to have your family as my guests and share the beautiful time together. Your adorable girl brought sunshine to everybody who met her during the tour in the middle of our rainy season, Tsuyu. I’m also impressed with how naturally you parents take care of her with some assistance of the modern techs. Eye opening for me.? Very best withes to you, Joe, and Serafina.? Best regards to Monique and Ryan as well.
Our group of 5 adults and 5 teens had a wonderful day in Tokyo with Tomoko san. She took details of our group in advance and came prepared with an itinerary that suited everyone including 1-2 surprise additions. She paced the day well to cover enough areas while giving the flexibility to do more or less as we chose at each spot. She spoke excellent English, was patient in answering all our questions and was very knowledgeable. She took us to a great lunch place and a few shops to buy local specialities. She gave us additional material for the remaining days of our trip as well.
Hi Prasad-san and all! Thank for the great review. That was a great honor and delight for me to share the time with you all during your special group trip to Japan, cerebrating the three girls’ commencement and the reunion with their friend after seven years! I felt as if I had come back to my first career, a high school teacher, and got excited and fully charged with the energy and inquisitiveness of your 5 teenagers. Hoping you enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan and wishing bright future for your lovely children, and you, parents as well. Cheers?
We have had a great tour of Tokyo with Tomoko. She knows a lot about Tokyo and Japan and made the best of our day. We learned a lot, she was able to answer our question and on top of that made nice pictures of us that we be good memories. We highly recommend Tomoko
Thank you for your great and prompt review, Christophe and Kristina. I really enjoyed the day with you, and especially your lovely faces amazed with good food, with the senior local shop-owner, and the unexpected message from the temple. Wishing you all the best and hoping you have a lot more fun experiences during your stay in Japan. Take care!
Tomoko was very knowledgeable and kind. She was like our Japanese mother for the day. She took care of us and taught us so much about the Japanese culture. We enjoyed our time with her and are very excited to plan our next trip with her. Thank you for a wonderful experience and introduction to Japanese culture. Best wishes from Trisha and Tiara. We will see you soon.
Thank you for sharing great time, Tiara and Trisha. Also, thank you for posting such a heart-warming review just after the tour. Yes, I felt as if I were your mother or at least your aunt that day ? I like a lot the way you casually enjoying your stay in Tokyo with your sibling. You are always most welcome and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. Say hello to all your family. Take care!
Tomoko was just so friendly and willing to take us to all the places we wanted to see and do in Tokyo. Nothing was an effort. We certainly crammed in a full day and were thoroughly exhausted but that was our choice to try and get to see as much as we could. We would recommend Tomoko to anyone considering hiring a guide which is really a great idea if you have never been to Japan before because it can be quite overwhelming with the huge amount of things to see and do. Thank you Tomoko for a great day. Lynnsey, Fay and Sue from Melbourne, Australia.
Hi Lynnsey! Thank you so much to take your time to post a great review. Yes, we did a lot that day starting from your hotel in Shinjuku, visiting Tokyo station, Imperial Palace, Asakusa, Ueno, and the fabric town! How are your patchwork pieces going? I’m very much interested in what you’ve made ? Thank you for sharing great time with me and my best regards to you and your lovely friends Fay and Sue.
We had a great time with Tomoko. She took care of us like her own family. She made sure my daughters enjoyed the authentic Japanese cousine. I will not hesitate to recommend Tomoko to my friends and family. Hope to visit again during cherry blossom season. Thank you Tomoko. You will remain our friend always. John Pereira, Abu Dhabi
Hi John and all, Thank you for your great review and, most of all, for the wonderful 6 days shared together. The view from Skytree, the beautiful hydrangea and irises, Imperial Palace, Asakusa, Ueno Zoo, the Shibuya Crossing, the Great Buddha of Kamakura, Shinkansen trip to Nagano, and the forestry Togakushi shrine……. Ramen, Tempra, Okonomi-yaki, Yakiniku, and sweets and Asahi beer! I could not name all we enjoyed sometime even in the rain. Thank you again and looking forward to seeing you again, John, Dorothy, Rochelle, Alisha, Molly and Maxime ?
Tomoko made our trip to Tokyo and Hakone a very nice experience. She was knowledgeable and helped us get around in Tokyo and Hakone. She took pictures and sent them to us complementing our experience. Her English was good and she helped us decide what dishes to eat for our meals. The only reason we don’t give her 5 stars is because in our first day we found out the imperial palace in Tokyo was closed once we arrived there. Otherwise she was a great guide for us.
Thank you for sharing great 4 days and taking your time to write such a great review. I was impressed by how well you prepared your trip and the way you enjoyed it. I was most impressed with how joyfully and naturally your son absorbed and enjoyed the new situations and language! Sincere apology that I took you to the Imperial Palace garden without knowing its irregular closing. It was not the fault of President Trump but mine to bring you there. Sorry for that and thank your for giving me the lesson to be more attentive at the time of special occasion when the security is super tight. Wishing you will have more fun during your further stay in Japan. Looking forward to seeing you again, Lyda, Carlos, Andre, and hopefully Sebastian, too ?
I jjust wanted to give my feedback on Tomoko and the bus and driver. Most tour guides just dispense information in a monotone and no more as that is their job. It was so refreshing to have a guide that was so knowledgeable, yet spent the time to connect with every person in the group. She tried to make everyone comfortable and cared to personally make sure everyone was accounted for. You could tell she really cared and I think everyone noticed and appreciated that. You could tell by the emotional departure. She mixed area information with personal references which everyone could relate to. I personally appreciated her knowledge and caring attitude and think she was an excellent choice for a guide. I also appreciated the driver's positive and pleasant attitude. And I thought the bu... read more
Hi Dan-san, Thank you for your great review just after the tour. I feel so honored and happy to be the guide of your group of 22 people on your special trip to Japan. Thank you for working together with me in advance. It might have been a little hard for some of your members to reach the lunch restaurant at the top of Enoshima island, but I’m sure the view and the quality must have worth trying it and they are proud of themselves? Thank you for their great work and jolly companionship. I also appreciate our driver’s professionalism and cooperation. We all would say, ‘Safety is the Priority!’ _your friends would know, hahaha. Wishing you all have great time in Hokkaido! ???
Everything about our tour with Tomoko was exceptional. From start to finish it is clear that she truly cares about providing a customized experience that exceeds expectations. Tomoko is kind, funny, very organized and knowledgeable. She reached out several times prior to our tour to make sure the itinerary was exactly what we wanted. She made the travel to Kamakura seamless and easy. Her personal experience growing up in Kamakura made her the perfect person to show us all the hidden secrets of the city along with some of its more well know sights. She provided rich context about the area in a way that made it fun, accessible and engaging. She told us wonderful stories about everything from famous waka poems to fish markets as we strolled the street. She also helped us take beautiful photos... read more
Hi Meredith, Thank you for taking your time to write such a great review. I really enjoyed sharing time with you in my hometown Kamakura. We were blessed with beautiful weather that day together with thousands of other tourists in the middle of holiday week. I was impressed that you and Theresa had been visiting so many temples and shrines all around Japan and receiving special stamps and writings of each place. I’m honored to be of your help to collect 4 more in the busy Kamakura on the third day of the new era, Reiwa! ? Great idea to enjoy hiking together. Looking forward to seeing you again and enjoying refreshing hike either in Kamakura or somewhere else. I have lots more options :）
Tomoko was very informative and organised, patient, kind and caring as we were travelling with 2 young children. She saw our needs and was able to work around our planned itinerary in Hakone based on what our family needed. I highly recommend Tomoko, you won’t be disappointed!
Hi Joanna! Great to hear from you. Thank you so much for taking your time while still travelling. I really enjoyed sharing the time in Hakone with you. Your children are both so smart and adorable. I’m proud of them and impressed by you, parents’ care and insight. Looking forward to seeing you again either in Japan or in Australia. Enjoy your further stay in Japan. – Auntie, Tomoko?
Tomoko was a super guide. She made our day. Organized ,informative, and cheerful we could not have asked for more. We give her 10 stars Maydelle and Sam Fason
Hi Maydelle and Sam, Thank you for your great review. I feel I was so lucky to share the beautiful sights and moments with you at the ancient temple in the morning. I cannot forget the serenity, the beautiful green after the shower and your smile. Thank you again for finding me out :)
We were lucky to be able to obtain the services of Tomoko on our first journey to Tokyo. We began to plan with her almost 8 months ago as we were arriving during one of the busiest times of the year. We spent 3 days in Tokyo, 1 day in Nikko and 1 day in Kamakura. Tomoko was very accommodating to our requests and she is an expert in all the places we wanted to visit. She is a very easy person to get to know and we felt like we came away gaining a new friend. We learned so much about the people, places and history of Japan. If you are traveling to Tokyo, we would recommend that any fellow travelers hire Tomoko whenever you are considering hiring a guide. We had an amazing 5 day experience that we will always remember! She is just the best! John and Charlotte
Hi dear John and Charlotte! Thank you for your heart-warming review. I feel exactly the same and I was so excited when I finally met you after more than half-year collaboration. I was impressed and learned a lot from your careful preparation and warm consideration. In spite of several rainy days, we did a lot and saw many beautiful sights. I will not forget those fun moments shared with you. They are engraved in my heart just like your hand-made special pendant. Hope you enjoy the rest of your journey. ?
Tomoko was very positive and helpful all the time we spent together. This was our first time in Japan, Tokyo. Tomoko met with us, made a great tour plan, explained and help us experience a bit of Japanese culture. She tailored the plan and the things we did according to our interests and needs. She made our Japan experience special. Arigato gozaimas Tomoko!
Hi Efe & Elif！Thank you for the beautiful day we shared and your great review. Yes, we visited a lot of fun places and did a lot that day, from an old temple, a market, Imperial Palace, authentic tea experience to Samurai spot. Amazed how quickly and naturally you absorbed things Japanese including language. It was quite interesting for me to learn your language and Japanese share a lot in common. Next time you come to Japan, do not hesitate to contact me. I’m looking forward seeing you again. Matane ?
Tomoko had obviously planned our day from the prior communications we had had offering us several alternatives and being flexible with the itinerary to suit us as well as bringing maps and brochures with her for us to use afterwards and gave us information for our remaining time in Tokyo. The day itself was a very full and enjoyable one, from 0830 to after 1700 when she left us after ensuring we were conversant with the Tokyo public transport system, and was certainly value for money. Tomoko's English was very good and she was very informative throughout the day as well as being a pleasure to be with and we would strongly recommend her as a guide
Thank you for your great review, Mike. It was a beautiful spring day, especially the peaceful morning in the park was memorable. I’m glad that you enjoyed the tour and the rest of your stay in Tokyo after the tour. It was my great pleasure to assist your adventure by showing places and how to swim around the city of Tokyo. Thank you for clarifying your interests and sharing fun time together with me. Looking forward to seeing you again ? Best wishes to you and Jennifer!
Wonderful guide. Well organized... had everything organized from the minute she met with us and on thru the whole day. She took exceptional care of us..like a nurse would! Had a good disposition and sense of humor. Couldn't ask for a more pleasant person to be with. Went the extra mile like helping us get yens from the ATM machine when ours ran out. I would not use any other guide if I came back to visit. Having Tomoko at the beginning of our trip helped us be able to get along better for the rest of our trip!
Thank you so much for the great review, Corrine. I was excited when I receive an offer from you to go and see the Snow Monkeys together. They were just adorable and we really enjoyed the sights.? The day was a bit rush, but the next day in Tokyo was very relaxing blessed with fine weather and beautiful cherry flowers! I learned a lot from you and Kelly. Thinking of your experiences, I’m just a GIRL ? My best regards to you two. Thank you again!
Tomoko guides all over Japan and especially enjoys showing Tokyo to visitors. She was very receptive to our requests and put together a program incorporating our interests with her own “must-see” places. Besides the famous shrines and gardens, she took us to lesser-known, beautiful places such as a famous sculptor’s home and studio. Tomoko came up with a creative schedule for our very rainy second day. Her English is very good; she is a lovely person and a fount of knowledge. She taught us to navigate the subway system and gave us tips and advice for the places we wanted to visit on our own after our two days together. We felt as if we had made a friend. We heartily recommend Tomoko for visitors to large, and sometimes confusing, Tokyo.
Thank you so much for your great review, Barbara. It was my great pleasure to share the two days with you. Thank you for being flexible and sharing your honest views about food and the places to visit in the cold rain, which made it easier for me to revise the itinerary into a natural way. I enjoyed the procedure and the outcome working together with you and Henry.:) As you mentioned, Tokyo is quite large with so many new interesting places to visit. I do appreciate your info and suggestion about the places I'm not that much familiar with. It's always fun to receive new ideas from my guests and explore those places. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed two more days in Tokyo after our tour. The pizza and the chocolate icecream with espresso were super Oishikatta-des!?
My husband and I did a private walking tour of Tokyo’s Sakura spots (Yanaka, Ueno Park and Chidorigafuchi) with Tomoko-san. She helped us customised the tour and during the tour she pointed out things we would have missed on our own. She was very knowledgeable about history. We really appreciate that she was easy to communicate with before and during the tour. Overall great experience!
Thank you for your review about our Sakura tour:) ? As you had clarified your interests and the venues you could easily go on your own in our previous message exchange, we could focus on the other places without any rush. Thank you for your suggestion, Grace. Besides, I feel so lucky that we were blessed with great weather and the best timing of the cherries as well as other kind of flowers. I’m sure you took lots of beautiful photos. I look forward to seeing you again in some other season.
She’s very nice and helpful.
Hi Danielle and all！Thank you for posting a great review before our three-day tour ends. I’m anticipating what fun moments we can share tomorrow. Cannot wait ? See you soon!
We had Tomoko on three different days and as my previous response, we found Tomoko particularly pleasant, professional and considerate - she cold not have done more and we wld hope to have her help again should we b fortunate to visit Tokyo again - she is we feel an asset to ye business
Thank you so much for posting the great review for me. I’m glad you let me share the first fun part of your one-month traveling around Japan. We enjoyed very relaxing walk here and there. Among them, Nezu – Yanaka walk was our highlight, wasn’t it? Every time I eat the bread, I’ll remember the fun morning shared with you. I sincerely with you have a lot more fun while you travel in Japan. Hoping to see you again, Robyn and Bill?
Tomoko was recommended to me by my cousin and we are so grateful she was available. She was very easy to communicate with to initially set up our tour. She was gracious and kind with our daughters. She went above and beyond what was required of a tour guide to meet our needs. She is very intelligent and gently shares her depth of knowledge of Tokyo with you. She helped us understand the history and culture of all the sites we were seeing to deepen our experience immensely. She helped shape the rest of our time in Tokyo when we were not with her. She gave us recommendations for many different things to see and do. She got us set up on our way with the transit system which, again, was very helpful to us as we are traveling on our own in Japan for 3 weeks. She combi... read more
Thank you for taking your time to write such a great review, Laura. I feel just the same as you do. I’m so grateful that I could share precious moments during a part of lyour great family adventure. I was impressed with your decision to travel around as a family. Great educational experiences. Wishing you have more fun and discoveries while in Japan. I’m looking forward to seeing you all again, especially when your sweet daughters become matured young ladies. Oh, I cannot wait!?
Tomoko goes the distance. There was a lot of communication prior to the trip and she was incredibly responsive. She was helpful with assisting with accommodations and reservations for restaurants and had great recommendations. The family thouroughly enjoyed her company, and her knowledge of the country and Tokyo. We would recommend Tomoko to any family visiting Tokyo. SUCH AN AMAZING GUIDE!!!!
Hi Lisa! Thank you for your great review, and above all, your great cooperation with me. Without your assistance, I could not have enjoyed that much with the family with lovely four girls. I learned a lot working together with you, which I appreciate greatly. Cheers! ? Tomoko
Dear Tomoko I just want to say thank you for this perfect day. Your tour was well organized and even the combination of what we have seen. Thank you again Take care Christoph
Hi Christoph, Thank you for taking your time to post a great review for our tour. Due to the locarion you stayed for your business, the itinerary was not a typical one, turned out to be rather unique one. I tried to show you as many different phases of Tokyo as possible, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing again and showing other places in and around Tokyo. Genau! Thank you:)
I highly recommend Tomoko as your tour guide for Tokyo. She was very patient and accommodative with my slower-paced parents while sharing her local insights with my inquisitive sister and me. She is very knowledgeable of Tokyo and its many sites. She has a very kind, friendly demeanor and she speaks English very well. She knows many wonderful food spots and is also a good photographer for our family photos. All in all, we enjoyed our day. Thank you Tomoko for showing us around your wonderful city!
Thank you for posting a great review so promptly, Sarah. I really enjoyed the beautiful spring day together with you all. The way your parents enjoying themselves was like warm, gentle spring wind and I loved it a lot. It made me so relaxed. The pictures they put on the kimonos for bride and bridegroom were adorable! I wish you have a lot more fun experiences and good food while staying in Japan. Best wishes to you, Lisa, and all your family. Thank you again?
Before arriving, an artist friend and & I shared with Tomoko our particular interests on this, our first trip to Tokyo. Not only did Tomoko devise a tour that answered our specific requests but her own historical and cultural knowledge -- plus a winning personality -- added more than we ever could ever have hoped for. We covered so much territory on this one outing -- from temples, shrines, a cemetery, and park to an art gallery and origami center (!) -- that we would not have discovered on our own. But above all, it was as if we were seeing it all with a new friend who knew exactly what we wanted. It could not have been more enjoyable and informative. What a winning combination.
Thank you so much to post a great review for our tour and me. I was impressed you both had researched a lot in each way and had lists of the places of your interest. It was my great pleasure to work together with you to make the day enjoyable for both of you. Some of the venues you listed were where I do not usually visit. I really appreciate your broadening my views and experiences. Not just the places, I feel I could be more adventurous when I choose my cloths. Wishing you did not ask ten different locals people trying to find out your destinations the next day ? Thank you and I look forward to seeing you again, Helene and Pat.
Because of Tomoko our first memories of Tokyo are fond ones shared with a new friend, and for that we cannot recommend choosing her as your personal Tokyo tour guide enough! Tomoko is as knowledgeable about her home country, as she is friendly and generous (which is A LOT). She is extremely responsive and will make the time shared with her very special. Our group consisted of four Aussie friends visiting Japan for the first time and when Tomoko asked how we wanted to spend our day, we asked to focus on trying lots of different Japanese food and visiting the 'must-see' attractions of the city. Instantly, Tomoko sent through an itinerary that matched our request perfectly and we were on our way to see the Meiji-Jingu shrine, Tsujiki Market and Senso-ji! From the very start of our t... read more
Hi Belinda, Will, Lucy and Jordan! Thank you for your great review. I really enjoyed the time shared with you all. I was so impressed by your interest and curiosity in our culture. Also, so quick to absorb anything and learn how to ride trains and transfer around in busy Tokyo although you did not know there were any train and subway in Tokyo and walked as far as 25km the previous day! Hahaha. What I enjoyed most with you is to see how much and how happily you eat here and there ? I’m proud of your appetite! I’m relieved to hear you safely enjoyed skiing/snowboarding in Niseko. Tanoshikatta-desune, Oishikatta-desune :) See you soon!
We have just finished our first day with Tomoko, and we are absolutely thrilled with having her for our guide! Before our trip she corresponded well with us through email to organize and plan our itinerary and days. She matched our itinerary so well with what we had expressed our interests are. Yet, she was also very flexible along the way as we decided how to see and do interesting things in the city. She is thoughtful and informative and gives great insights to everything we are seeing and experiencing. She has wonderful suggestions and she paces activities and sights to see just perfectly. She is so helpful and pleasant. Tomoko has really made our Tokyo adventure so special, and we have made wonderful memories on our tour with her. We can’t imagine anyone better than Tomoko to na... read more
Hi Laura and all! Thank you very much for posting such a nice review just after the tour. That was a great valentine day for me, too. I like the way how all of you think and care about other family members, which made my heart warmed? I also appreciate it a lot that you always listened to my stories attentively and show great interest and respect to our culture and the differences even while you are busy tasting, photographing, and shopping. Wishing you have great days in Kyoto and very much looking forward to our reunion on the second day in Tokyo. More fun experiences and sights will be waiting for you! Thank you again. ?
I had a lovely day with Tomoko visiting Kamakura. Tomoko designed a proposal for me to suit my work schedule and met me at my hotel in Tokyo. We travelled to Kamakura together and on the way she showed me the various maps, information packs she had brought for me. In Kamakura, Tomoko provided a huge amount of historical, local information and clearly knows a lot about the area having lived there for many years! Her plan allowed us plenty of time in each place and at no point did I feel rushed, despite having to be back in Tokyo for a meeting that afternoon. I learned so much and would highly recommend Tomoko as a guide. She was friendly and easygoing and the whole day was fantastic.
Hi dear Emily! Thank you for your great review. I really enjoyed the time shared with you in Kamakura. You are just like my daughters’ generation, so it was fun for me to hear your stories, views, and ideas. It was like a refreshing breeze! After the tour, I saw the film, ‘One Cut of the Dead.’ That was hilarious! Also, thank you for showing your interest to my old stories when I was in my teens _ hahaha. Wishing you the very best for your future career and your own life, too.
Tomoko was a fantastic guide and we highly recommend her! Her depth and breadth of knowledge was remarkable and her flexibility just great. We spent 3 half days of our 4 day visit to Tokyo with Tomoko. And we visited so many interesting places including: Asakusa (temple and lively town), Tsukiji Outer Market (food tasting extraordinaire!) Kappabashi (foodie heaven of kitchen and cutlery shops), Uneo Park (history and temples), Yanaka (matcha tea ceremony - one of the highlights), Imperial Palace gardens (including impromptu taxi drive around the area with very knowledgeable driver translated by Tomoko), Fukagawa Fudodo (temple in the old town with fire ceremony). In the later afternoons and evenings we had time to explore ourselves and took in Tokyo station, Shinjuku and the Samura... read more
Hi Sally-Anne! Thank you very much to take your time to write such a nice review and share what we did together in details. Yes, we visited many places in three days and shared a lot of memorable moments. We laughed a lot, too! Our last visiting spot was the GIRL’s town, Harajuku, and I will not forget the sweet picture that you and Peter enjoyed sharing that crepe. So sweet? Say hello to Vija! Her ideas and supports were just great. My very best wishes to you all!
My husband and I spent two days with Tomoko as she showed us around Tokyo. We had never been to Japan and only had two days in the city before moving on to Hakuba for a week of skiing. We are so very pleased that we arranged this time with Tomoko. Right from the first contact she demonstrated how well she would look after us. She tailored our trip to show us the things we had expressed an interest in and constantly checked in with us if we wanted to see or experience anything else along the way. As a former teacher, Tomoko is very good at providing detailed information about what she is showing you and you need to be ready for her pop quizzes as you go along ;-) She has a lovely personality and is very nurturing. She is fluent in English and does not hesitate to help you with your tra... read more
Thank you so much Justine for your great review. I’m glad you enjoyed the days in Tokyo and a week of skiing in Hakuba. I wished I could go there, too, with the last train ticket left :) We walked and visited so many places, which made us always hungry. We had a lot of good food, too . The gyoza was superb! Thank you for letting me know your interests, where you stay, and the whole tour plan in Japan. It was helpful when I plan the itinerary. That is one of the fun parts for me, but sometimes I put too many places with the intention of showing as many places as possible. However, as you know, what counts is not the number of places we visit but is how you enjoy them. So, I try to ask my guests how they feel on our way. That’s another fun part of private tours, the fun collaboration! We ... read more
Spent a wonderful two days with Tomoko. Tomoko is very charming and knowledgeable. We told her what we were interested in and she took us to gardens, temples, shrines, markets, museums, and parks which we would have spent days trying to find on our own. We had delicious food, rode the intimidating subway with ease, and learned so much about Japanese culture and history. We enjoyed immensely our two days with Tomoko and I highly recommend her if you want to experience the very best of Japan.
Thank you for your great review! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the 2-day tour with me. It was cold outside, but we walked and did a lot blessed with fine weather. Thank you for telling me your general interests in advance, which made me easier to make up plans. I also thank you for your asking countless questions while we were together. They gave me the chances to reconsider our life, history, customs, etc., which I would take just as a matter of course if not being asked. I will never forget the beautiful crescent we see together on our way back from the Matcha, tea place. That was a real ‘once in a lifetime’ moment ?
I reached out Tomoko prior to getting to Japan to arrange a one day tour of Hakone for my parents. Tomoko was very responsive and offered other options as well just in case of bad weather. Hakone was a full day trip for my parents - 10 hours - and they had a blast. Tomoko is an attentive guide and a pleasure to be around. I would not hesitate to use her service again the next time we are in Tokyo.
Thank you for taking your time to post a nice review for me. I’m glad that your parents enjoyed the time in Hakone. I really enjoyed the day with Teresa and Eddie, too. They are very pleasant with warm sense of humor and I felt relieved that they seemed to be enjoying the Hokone song I sang. :) We were so lucky to see Mt. Fuji whole day. Thank you for bringing sunshine? It would be great if I can guide you next time when you come to Tokyo. Thank you again!
We had a terrific day with the best guide, Tomoko!!! She was kind, knowledgeable, fun and knew exactly how to navigate the cities. Tomoko is a great guide but we have found a new friend for life in her in Japan. We are a mom and 2 college age sons and loved every minute with Tomoko. We can’t wait to come back and visit new places with her. Best decision we made was hiring Tomoko!
Hi Jill! Thank you for your great review. Yes, that was a memorable day and I enjoyed every second with you and your two young gentlemen? The day in Kamakura, Enoshiima, and Yokohama was great. We visited many beautiful places and above all had a lot of good local food! All of your smiles and appreciation made them more delicious! Tanoshikatta-desune. (That was fun) and Oishikatta-desune (Everything was yummy!) I’m looking forward to seeing you again? Your Japanese friend, Tomoko
We did an 8 hour tour of Tokyo with Tokomo and she was fabulous! So much knowledge and willing to do whatever we wished. We asked many questions and she was so kind and patient with us. We have already recommended her to our family coming to Tokyo. She was able to answer and tell us anything about The history of Japan along with traditions and cultural information. Thank you so muxh TOKOMO!!
Thank you so much for taking your time to post such a nice review, Monique. It was so much fun for me to share the time and experiences with active and inquisitive young people like you and Ryan. The contrast between serene atmosphere of Meiji Jingu shrine and the packed experience in Tsukiji was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with you, too. I’m looking forward to seeing your family in Tokyo, and of course yourself again someday! ?
Tomoko guided our group of 10, including children, around some of Tokyo's highlights. We navigated the Metro, sought out quality food & snacks, had some insight into Japan's rich history, strolled through the Ginza District and explored the bustling Akasusa district. Thank-you!
Hi Ainsley! Thank you for posting a great review just after you returned home. I’m glad that you enjoy the only day in Tokyo before departing to Nozawa, Nagano for your family skiing. We visited lots of places in the cold winter wind, but all the smiles of you and your friend’s family warmed me up. Hope to see you all again someday. Mata-aimasho! ?
We had an Wonderful time. This was our first trip to Japan and Tomoko san reached out well advance to find out about what we were interested in doing and what we would like to see. Based on our requests, she customized an itinerary so that all our interests were addressed. We spend 9 hours with her and really enjoyed walking around Tokyo and trying the local foods and seeing the sights- both modern and traditional. My teenage children really enjoyed interacting with her and learning about Tokyo and Japan. We highly recommend her and would love to have her again as a guide on our next trip. Domo arigato gozai mas Tomoko san!
Hi Debu-san & family, thank you so much for taking your time to post such a warm review. Thank you for choosing me as your guide and letting me make up an itinerary for you. That was great fun! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with you, too. The way you try Japanese language, many questions about history, food, and many others, the way you appreciate all different things and beauties, all of these made me find out more about my own culture. Arigato gozaimashita. Totemo tanoshikatta desu. Mata aimasho! – Thank you. I enjoyed it very much. See you again? 知子
We went to Hakone as winter camp and requested Tomoko-san to be our 1 day tour guide. She is very professional, fluent in English, know the place and history very well. We had 6 people in our group and she took care of all of us. She customized the trip schedule accordingly to our interests, and our pace. And it started snowing unexpectedly which means super cold, she even offered us hot tea and a jacket from her bag! She also arranges tours not only in Hakone, so if chance, we would definitely like to contact her again.
Hi Mai-san and all! Thank you for taking your time to post such a nice review. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the tour in Hakone. It was my first experience to attend a group like yours who works here in Japan. It was very interesting for me that all of your members from different countries working at the same company are exchanging and sharing different cultural values, and experiences on daily basis. I found it great and I feel I’m very lucky to be invited to your winter camp. It would be my great pleasure if I could join some of your fun events in the future. I’m looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you!
Tomoko san was prompt in meeting us in our hotel lobby. Prior to that she wAs very thorough in explaining the site where we plan to visit. She was accomodating , cheerful and never tired in answering all the wiestions thrown to her . One thing that stands out from Tomoko san character is her sense of humor and her genuine character. Not just a tour also a fun time discovering things .
Dear Beatrice-san, Thank you for taking your time to write such a sweet review. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the tour just as I did. Yes, it was a great fun, and I’m sure your mom also enjoyed seeing all the pictures you took that day. Happy birthday again to her! I hope you’ll have more and more fun travels together with her. I’m looking forward to being asked more questions and seeing your mom when you come to Japan next time. Best wishes to you, lovely sisters, and all of your family?- Tomoko
During our 6 days with ms.Tomoko in Tokyo, we were well taken care of everything from food, tour, places & detailed introduction & briefing of all our destinations. We basically are treated like a very close friend travelling together with Tomoko and enjoyed the trip together. The kind of friendship that developed during our trip is also the most memorable. With ms.Tomoko great professionalism, we are able to discover Tokyo in great depths & details in a relaxed and enjoyed manner. Ms. Tomoko is highly recommended to whoever that is looking forward to explore Tokyo and know more about the places that you are about to visit. Her truly accommodative & client-friendly approach really makes our trip a different & memorable one. Thanks alot ms.Tomoko, wish you a happy life and hope to see you a... read more
Hi Chi-san, Thank you for taking your time to post such a heartwarming review. The 6 days with you all in Tokyo and its suburbs were great fun and unforgettable for me, too! Being so inquisitive and spontaneous, you brought me a great harvest and filled my heart and stomach：） I think it was lucky that we could be flexible and accommodate the day’s weather and condition. Thank you again and see you in near future! Best wishes to you, Evelyn, and Jia?
We had a very good time with Tomoko. Tomoko is very knowledgeable about Japanese culture. She made sure to show us all the places in Kamakura even thought it took more of her time. She is very kind and if I have a chance to come back to Japan, I will definitely ask her to be my tour guide again.
Hi Daisy! Thank you for posting such a heartwarming review. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour in Kamakura, my original hometown. I really enjoyed the time shared with you, your aunt and cousin. We walked a lot and laughed a lot? I cannot wait the next chance to see you again! Best wished to you all!
We did a one day private excursion with Tomoko to Kamakura from Tokyo. The first thing we noticed is that our guide is a very friendly person by nature. Very social also. The tour was organised to perfection and she took very well care of us. We did a nice nature walk and visited some small shrines and a big one. Tomoko followed up the weather report in detail and adapted our schedule so that we could do everything before the rain came. We recommend this guide who speaks well English also. Joël &Ilse. Flanders. Belgium.
Hi Joël & Ilse! Thank you for taking the time to post such a nice review. It was great fun for me to show you some of my favorite places in Kamakura. I’m glad you enjoyed it, too. It was great relief that we escaped the heavy rain while hiking. Thank you for your information about your country and safety tips while traveling. I’m looking forward to visiting beautiful places in your country someday in the future! Best wishes to you two. ?
My family and I had the most wonderful and unforgettable visit to Japan all thanks to Tomoko’s superb tour and planning before and during our trip. She is not only extremely knowledgeable of Japanese tourist spots and culture but was passionate to fill our minds with all the beautiful things that encompasses Japan's astonishing history. We asked so many questions and she answered happily. We went from Tokyo to Fuji and Tomoko was with us enthusiastically every step of the way. If it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish and see so many places in one short day in Tokyo. It was perfect! We don’t consider her a tour guide but now a dear friend...Tomoko, maybe you are even the newest member of the family and we cannot wait to see you on our next Japan adventure, perhaps H... read more
Hi Jon and all, Thank you for the great review. I enjoyed every moment shared with you all. It was a great honor and pleasure for me to have the chance to accompany you on your special life-time occasion! I was impressed with your great appetite not only for good food but for all cultural, historical, and natural beauties of our country. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a different season at some different beautiful places in Japan. Best wishes to you all! – Your friend and auntie Tomoko?
What a great way to begin our time in japan! Tomoko was a delight to spend our day with! She was always on time, organized, friendly and easy to understand. She made us feel like family! Highly recommend her tour! Thank you again for your time!
Hi Julie and all! Thank you very much for taking your time to posting such a warm review. I’m glad you enjoyed the evening in Tokyo and the full day in Hakone. I really enjoyed the time with you feeling like your old friend. The day in Hakone was just great. Thank you for blowing off the clouds and soothing the strong wind. I’m sure you will have more fun together traveling around the world as you all have eaten the eggs and poured the holy water over the Jizo! Thank you again, Arigato-gozaimashita?
It was a great tour and we enjoyed it a lot. Tomoko is an enthusiastic and very competent guide who took us for a hike around Kamakura and its highlights. She told us a lot of interesting facts about her home town Kamakura and Japan in general, we would otherwise miss. We are highly impressed by her attitude and dedication, and we could certainly recommend her services.
Hi Konstantin! Thank you very much for posting such a nice review so promptly. Before the tour, I had been worrying about the weather, but you brought beautiful sunshine to Kamakura. The hiking trail was sometimes muddy and slippery, but we enjoyed even that. I’m glad to hear you and your jolly friends from Estonia enjoyed the tour. It was great fun for me talking to you all, too. Especially, I was impressed by the story with some specific examples that you had had some stereotyped images about Japan and Japanese people, but you found out many of them were not true through your real experiences. I agree that it is the joy of traveling abroad. Lastly, I wish the money you washed in the temple will bring you great fortune and happiness? Hope to see you again someday!
Tomoko was an excellent guide that I would definitely recommend to anyone. Her tour allowed us to see so many great places in one day: 1) Zojoji temple and Tokyo Tower (Shiba area) 2) Sensoji temple, Asakusa 3) Kappabashi street (all goods to run restaurants) -here we went to a special japanese knife shop 4) via Butsudan street to Ueno area 5) Local Soba(back wheat) noodle restaurant 6) Ueno station and Ameya Yokocho (Ameyoko) street 7) Ueno Park - statue of Saigo Takamori, Kiyomizu Kannon temple hall, the face of Great Buddha, Ueno Toshogu shrine, etc. 8) Yanaka area - Kanneji temple, Yanaka cemetary (the last Shogun's tomb), Tennoji temple, and some other small temples and quiet residential area 9) Imperial Palace East Gardens, Outer Gardens, Nijubashi (the double bridg... read more
Hi Marisa and Florian! Thank you for taking your time to write such a nice review for me. Yes, we visited so many interesting places just in one day. It’s amazing. I’m proud of you. I’m glad you enjoyed differences of those areas. As you saw, Tokyo has many different faces and features. I genuinely enjoyed the time shared with you. The only thing I regret is that we couldn’t go through the grand gate of Zojoji (Three Emancipation Gate) because it was closed, and we still stay ‘greedy, angry and stupid’ _ hahaha. It’s just a joke. I was impressed how you are nice-hearted and smart. See you someday, again. Take care!? Tomoko
Tomoko was amazing in customizing day tour with good time management and selecting places of my interest! She made tour very informative by mixing history, current realities, culture and engaging conversations! Also helped in picking proper lunch place (me being vegetarian) and souvenir shopping! She was punctual, knowledgeable about places, commute, and where to take pictures :) She was able to communicate in effective English and made entire day fun with various random discussions ...which helped learning about Tokyo, people, real estate, challenges and fun aspects! Highly recommend if you have a limited time, want to see what you want and learn from local expert!
Hi Chirag. Thank you very much for writing a nice review for me. I’m glad you enjoyed your only free day in Tokyo. I also enjoyed sharing info and exchange opinions with you about the world we are in. It is one of the fun parts of private tours, isn’t it? It was also nice of you to make it clear before planning what you want to see and what you are not to eat, which was very helpful when I customized your tour. I’m sure you will be back to Japan with your family next time. Hope to see you then. Thank you again. – Tomoko?
We met Tomoko early in the morning and started off on the subway to explore Tokyo's parks, temples, food, stores and more. She was very knowledgeable about the history and spoke excellent English (she formerly taught English I believe). What is harder to convey adequately is just what a lovely person she was - we thoroughly enjoyed both the day and spending time with her. And it was clear she thoroughly enjoyed teaching interested visitors about her country's history and culture. She did a great job helping us understand the options and make intelligent choices based on the logistics, timing etc. And as she saw our interests she suggested some possible tweaks to the itinerary, and took us to see some real jewels that were just off the beaten paths. We would absolutely go back to her ... read more
Thank you very much for your warm, encouraging review, Maria. Yes! I thoroughly enjoyed your interests and sharing a bit of our culture and history with you. The Soba shop the lady at the info recommended was perfect, wasn’t it? I went to thank her the other day when I just dropped by and she loved it. I was impressed how you selected the best items as souvenirs for all your family members. They were all beautiful and practical, too! Wasn’t it lucky that we had just escaped from thunder and lightning at the end? I believe it was a piece of luck the dancing lion brought to you! Stay lucky and smiling. I’m looking forward to seeing you someday again. – Tomoko?
I spent a wonderful morning with Tomoko visiting some of the gardens and shrines around the Shinjuku area. If you are looking for a knowledgeable friendly guide to show you around Tokyo I would highly recommend her services.
Hi Wayne! Thank you very much for taking your time to write a nice review while still traveling. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the tour although it was in your short layover and the weather was not quite favorable. I’m impressed by your enthusiasm to make every moment as a chance to take good photos even in the rain. The trees and forests in Meiji Jingu and Shinjuku Gyoen must have loved it!! Me? Of course, I did! See you soon again on your way back home.– Tomoko?
Tomoko is very knowledgeable and has truly high professionalism standards. I only had a day to spent in Tokyo, I wanted to make the most out of it, and I certainly owe this to Tomoko. I have described her my priorities and she designed a captivating and perfectly balanced day; I have learnt a myriad things about the Japanese history and culture, and also about mundane and practical aspects of the Japanese life. She carries a book with pictures, old prints, maps and text that help her to describe the topic in detail and make a point. She is punctual, energetic, and has a great senses of humor; one day in Tokyo is short, but she made it very memorable for me.
Hi Roxana! Thank you so much for your warm, encouraging review. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour. You can tell easily from the pictures that I really enjoyed it, too! Yes, we laughed a lot together ! I’m impressed by your energy to try to make the most of your limited time and to enjoy it. My best regards to you. See you someday again?
My brother and I could not be more grateful for your kind services during our (first-ever) visit to experience the magnificent country of Japan. We found your pride in your country's tradition and culture to be exceptional. The sights, tastes, scents and stories of Japan you shared were privileges we never anticipated. We know you are far more than a polite, intuitive, world-travelled lady. We found ourselves walking with both a personal interpreter and a well-organised and unique ambassador. We experienced the spontaneous shortcuts and alleys, forests, special shrines, leafy temples, markets and the local shops where you ran and grew up. Thank-you for sharing everything, we would've been lost without you and your remarkable suggestions. We now feel confident to challenge ours... read more
Anthony-san, Thank you so much for posting such wonderful remarks for me. I’m very glad that you and Craig-san genuinely enjoyed our tours in Tokyo and Kamakura. I appreciate your showing great respect to our culture, too. Thank you. Yes, I was brought up in Kamakura and spent many years there, so I have endless stories about the area. I was happy you got interested in them and even drew some from my memory. I’m sure you will find a lot more beauties when you visit Japan again in different seasons and explore wider areas. Hope to see you again someday! – Tomoko?
Tomoko was an excellent guide for my family of four during our first day in Tokyo. She was well prepared and on time, and she brought us a useful map and some other materials. She also made some interesting suggestions for our tour that we enjoyed very much, such as visiting the Asakura Museum of Sculpture. Her English is very good and she was very good at relating to my kids (ages 14 and 12). I highly recommend Tomoko as a guide.
Hi Teresa, Thank you so much for taking your time to write a nice review for me. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour although it rained a lot in the morning. I really enjoyed myself sharing the time with you and your family. Your children are so sweet! I was impressed that you had made great research and prepared so well in advance, anticipating your travel to Japan. I’m glad you enjoyed the museum, Asakusa and Kappabashi a lot. Thank you and see you again someday. -Tomoko
This was the first trip to Tokyo for me and my family. We wanted to do a tour that would highlight some of the history/culture of Japan and Tomoko planned the itinerary and delivered. We were able to learn some of the historical/cultural context and visit places such as the Meiji Temple and Sensoji Temple with Tomoko. She also included places such as Harajuku (place where a lot of teenagers go to shop and entertain themselves) to engage and entertain my teenage daughters and an opportunity for them to try on Kimonos. She also guided us to a local restaurant for lunch to try monjayaki which was a great experience. She was also very engaging with the entire family which made the tour very enjoyable as well as provided tips on traveling around Tokyo via the subway system and other places... read more
Hi Alvin, Thank you for taking your time to post a nice review for me. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour and places we visited together. I really enjoyed the tour with you, too. It was a hot but fun day. Your daughters are smart adventurous young ladies to try everything new and enjoy Monja! Thank you and I hope to see you again someday!
Tomoko is amazing, wonderful, terrific!...I could go on and on :) In addition to being my first time in Japan, it is also my first time as a solo-female traveler. I am so, SO glad I chose to book two 4h day tours with Tomoko. I spent the first two full days of my trip in Tokyo, Japan with Tomoko. She did an amazing job in helping me achieve my main goals which were to: 1) Orient myself in Tokyo and 2) Learn how to orient myself in the other places I will visit Tomoko is excellent in presenting Japanese history, language lessons, and understanding what her guests would like. I highly recommend Tomoko to everyone. Here are some of the many highlights that I experienced with Tomoko during my two day tours: - Knowing where to obtain general information for a city - Understanding... read more
Hi Jackie! Thank you very much for writing such a nice review for me. Yes, our tours were short but very intensive. I enjoyed every moment with you. You are a very pleasant, inquisitive young lady. I was also glad, grateful, and proud of you choosing Japan as the destination of your special trip. It reminded me of my first solo trip abroad when I was your age purchasing Brit Rail pass. I’m sure you’ll be welcomed everywhere and have a lot more fantastic experiences while traveling around Japan. Basically, Japan is a safe country, but take care and return safely. Looking forward to seeing you again in Tokyo! ? Tomoko
I enjoyed my to tours with Tomoko, she was knowledgable, had good english, and very accommodating for my special needs on the second day. Indeed, it was obvious she had spent some time researching options so she could help me.
Thank you for taking your time to write a nice review for me so soon, Dale. I’m glad you enjoyed the two days in Kamakura and Tokyo. Your way of viewing the spots we visited really broadened my views. It deepened my understanding. Please say hello to your wife and your family. I hope to see you someday when you come back to Japan. Thank you and take care!
My daughter and I spent a full day with Tomoko (8 hours) and we enjoyed every minute of it. If we had stayed in Tokyo longer, we would definitely have booked her for another day or two. She was so knowledgeable about the sights we saw, it was educational as well as fun. The secret about booking Tomoko as a guide is her personality. She is so kind, warm and personable. You will feel as though you have always known her. Also, you will not have more energy than Tomoko as she seems to have an endless source. We booked her our first full day in Tokyo and doing so started our trip off perfectly. There is so much to see in Tokyo (the largest city in the world), do yourself a favor and choose Tomoko as your guide. You will gain a lifetime of wonderful memories and friendship.
Thank you very much for your heartwarming, encouraging review. I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour with me although it was a very hot, humid day. I really enjoyed being company with you and K-chan, too. I was impressed to hear that you two had started planning to come to Japan 6 years ago! K-chan broadened my views about Japanese pop culture and I’ll never forget her cute excited face when she found her favorite anime characters. Thank you very much. I wish to see you again. Arigato-gozaimashita. Mata itsuka aimashou! - Tomoko(^^)
