Hello everyone!!
I’m Hiroki,national licensed guide interpreter focusing on offering tours on the subject of hidden Japan charms,such as indigenous cultures, life styles, and highly skilled craftsmanship!!
Let me now intoroduce myself little bit, I’ve been living in Chiba city near Tokyo for more than 40 years since when I was a student of a university located in Tokyo.
I studied commercial science at the university.(Bachelor of business and commerce)
Incidentally, my graduate thesis topic was ”Rise of handicraft manufacturing in the late Edo period”.
After graduation, I joined a petrochemical company in 1980. As is customary with Japanese style lifetime emplpoyment, I worked for the company until the retirement in 2014!!(same company for 34 years!!)
And,after passing the state examination in the year 2015, I’ve started a new career of a guide interpreter as my second life.
Since then,I maily had an actual experience of an interpreter in a variety of traditional Japanese culture workshops for foreign tourists.(Specifically,Chanoyu-TeaCeremony,Ikebana-flower Arranging,Shodo-Calligraphy,Tougei-Pottery,Washoku-Japanese Cuisine,Iai-The art of Drawing the Sword,and so on.)
Fortunately,as every instructor in the workshops was an authority on the subject, I was able to develop a capability of giving proper explanation on Japanese culture through the great experience of acting as an interpreter with the masters.
Additionally,for all my long experience in petrochemical industory,the reason for choosing a brand-new career is to make my dream of transmmiting traditinal Japanese culture to the people all over the world come true.(I’ve always wanted to do this kind of thing after being inspired by my ancestral origin of being Samurai retainer served a Daimyo feudal lord for generations!!)
And so, that’s why I’m so happy to have a great opportunity to make your trip in Japan much more enjoyable!!

Can I make changes after I book?
Yes! If you need to make changes such as removing or adding someone to your booking or changing the date or time of your tour, contact us by phone or email
Starting and ending points of the tour.
After you secure your booking, the starting and ending points of your tour can be customized to your convenience (ex.: your hotel, nearby stations, etc.). Don't worry, we will take care of you! Some tours may have an extra fee for this service, make sure to check the tour page.
What happens after I book a tour?
After booking a tour, the guide will accept (or decline) your booking within 24 hours. Then you will be noticed by email from GoWithGuide.
Is the price per person or per group?
The price is charged per group. Which means that you make a one-time payment for your entire group and the price will not change if it is less or more people.
Can I add more people to my booking?
Some guides accept extra people (more than the specified number) for an extra charge. Please check for the extras on the tour or booking page, or contact your guide directly to clarify.
Will there be other tourists in my tour?
No. Your tour is private, only for you and your family or friends, there will be no other group of tourists together in your tour.
Can the guide pickup me at the airport?
Yes, but there will be additional charge for that and it is not by car. The guide will go pick you up using public transportations. For further details, please contact your guide directly.
I'm travelling alone. Can I book this tour?
Yes, you can and you may be able to get a discount if you are traveling alone. Price depends on which guide you choose.
Cancellation Policy
- If you cancel in the first 14 day(s) before the meeting time, there is a 100% charge.
- If you cancel between 15 and 29 day(s) in advance of the meeting time, there is a 50% charge.
- If you cancel at least 30 day(s) in advance of the meeting time, there is a 100% refund.
“ Amazing way to learn the city and history ”
We couldn't have asked for a better first day in Tokyo! Hiroki-san was gracious, funny, and was able to help us navigate the most confusing subway system we've ever seen! As first timers to Japan, it was very overwhelming trying to find what to do and how to travel there. By doing this tour, we not only traversed the city, but learned so many different things in the process! Hiroki-san was even able to customize our day based on preferences we provided. “ Fake food! ”
Hiroki met us at our hotel and took us to Asakusa train station, we wanted to do a replica wax food workshop that required a guide to be with you, he arranged the booking for us and paid and organised anything, before the workshop he took us around the area and talked to us about the history and we also got to ask some of our burning questions we’d been dying to find the answer to during our trip in japan. He was lovely and insightful and knowledgeable, thank you so much Hiroki!!
