My name is Akiko, national licensed English-speaking tour guide. I'd be happy to help you in your adventure in Japan. I love traveling myself, and I actually traveled extensively in the world and also within Japan. I am interested in history, archaeology, and culture. So I believe I can be good company as well while being your guide. I love to meet new people because there is always something new to learn from them. And I enjoy learning new things.

I was born and raised in the city of Hachinohe in Aomori Prefecture which is located in the northern tip of the main island Honshu in Japan. I lived in Tokyo and worked with Americans for 30 years, and recently moved back to my hometown where I belong.

I can offer you a tour in Akita and Iwate as well. There are so many interesting destinations in Japan. Please come and visit Tohoku (northern Japan) where you can enjoy Japanese real local life and people. Looking forward to meeting you soon!

What happens after I book a tour?

After booking a tour, the guide will accept (or decline) your booking within 24 hours. Then you will be noticed by email from GoWithGuide.

Is the price per person or per group?

The price is charged per group. Which means that you make a one-time payment for your entire group and the price will not change if it is less or more people.

Can I add more people to my booking?

Some guides accept extra people (more than the specified number) for an extra charge. Please check for the extras on the tour or booking page, or contact your guide directly to clarify.

Will there be other tourists in my tour?

No. Your tour is private, only for you and your family or friends, there will be no other group of tourists together in your tour.

Can the guide pickup me at the airport?

Yes, you can and you may be able to get a discount if you are traveling alone. Price depends on which guide you choose.

“ Odate dogs and Magewappa ”

The perfect experience as Akiko organised everything to perfection and was very patient in explaining things. She also had back up plans. We were able to see Akita dogs and the traditional cherry bark craft. Thanks again Akiko and hope to engage your services next time we are Japan.

“ A Good Day at Hakoda Ropeway, Boat Ride at Lake Lowada and Falls at Oirase Gorge ”

Me and my daughter(15 yrs old) had a great time with Akiko, she's organized. She met us up in the hotel on time, travel straight to the spots and explains while travelling. I did learn a lot about Aomori and when to visit best Aomori again. I will surely choose Akiko again.
