A stroll along the main street in St.Petersburg - Nevskiy pr. We shall start at Fontanka river and the Anichkov bridge and walk towards the Neva river watching and learning a lot about the most famous buildings on the way. (Alexandriyskiy Theatre, Kazanskiy cathedral, St.Katherine church, Stroganov palace, etc.) This busy street never leaves anyone indifferent!
During the tour we will walk around one of the most beautiful squares of St.Petersburg and talk about the buildings which form it (St.Isaac Cathedral, Mariinskiy palace, Astoria hotel building, etc.)
You will never forgive yourself if you don't see the main square of St.Petersburg! Although it is not the lardgest square in the city it nevertheless is the cultural heart of it as the main museum in Russia - the Hermitage - is located here. After we talk about its buildings and Alexandriyskiy Column in the centre of the square, we will move on towards the Admiralty and enjoy its view and history. After this tour you will have no hesitation to book the first available flight to Russia!
We will start from Senate square with the Bronze Horseman - a monument to Peter the Great, which contains not a single gram of bronze:)) From the square there is a beautiful view of the University embankment with its amazing buildings coming from the 18th and 19th centuries including the oldest stone palace in the city - Menshikovskiy palace, the palace of Peter II, the Chamber of curiousity... Crossing the Neva river over the Palace bridge we will find ourselves at the spit of Vasiljevskiy island - another famous sight of St.Petersburg. The order of attractions may change but their beauty will remain unchanged and leave no one indifferent!
The square which bears the name of the one of Arts is called so because the function of the majority of the buildings that face it deals with arts, either we talk about the Big Philarmonic Hall, Mikhailovskiy Theatre or The Russian museum. With a monument to Alexandre Pushkin, a famous Russian poet, it is fairly considered to be one of the most beautiful and cozy squares in our city. The Church-of-our- Savour-on-the-spillt-Blood is located near by and is an outstanding example of the traditional "Russian" style in architecture.
