In this full day private guided tour we’ll make a fascinating journey through the History of Art from the 13th to the 20th century, visiting the 3 most important painting and art museums of Madrid and Spain. We’ll be able to contemplate the major periods and schools of western art, from the Renaissance through Mannerism, Baroque, Rococo, Romanticism and the art of the 19th and 20th centuries to Pop Art. We’ll marvel at works from some movements such as Impressionism, Fauvism, German Expressionism and the experimental avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, and discover an important collection of 19th-century American painting which is unique among European museums.
Durer, Raphael, Bosch, Titian, Tintoretto, Rubens, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Goya, Manet, Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Kandinsky, Picasso, Dalí, Hopper and Rothko are some of the great painters whose works enthrall visitors.

The collection of international paintings at Thyssen-Bornemisza complements the old masters in the Prado Museum and the modern and contemporary paintings found in the Museo Reina Sofía and offers an excellent sample of 19th century American paintings, which had been all but absent from European museums.
In this full day customized private guided tour you’ll have enough time to enjoy in depth a visit to the 3 museums, including time for sitting at the elegant museums' cafés for a break or lunch and make a stop at the museums’ gift shop to make it an unforgettable experience.

We will walk from one museum to another as they are within walking distance. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. Taking pictures and carrying large backpacks are not allowed in the Prado Museum. Photography without flash is allowed in the Reina Sofía Museum, except in the Picasso area of Guernica.
