Perhaps nothing is more culturally identifiable to Madrid than going for great “tapas”: this tour goes for the famous "bar hopping" along different local places while you smell, see and will be able to taste all the essence of Madrid gastronomy. You will also be guided along to the local market to see all the fresh products displayed before going into the restaurants and bars where tapas are made daily.

By visiting some of the oldest and most beloved tapas restaurants in Madrid, you will get to know the history behind tapas and how they’ve made their way into the heart of Spanish culture, to be then ready to order on your own.
We will dive into hand-picked hidden taverns serving delicious and unique house specialties -from traditional local favorites to gourmet modern creations- like Iberian ham, the best squids sandwiches in the country, the most delicious croquettes, cod in batter, suckling pig, potato omelette, the famous “cocido” (local chickpea stew), “callos a la madrileña” (stewed tripe dish) and more, in some of the best local family-run eateries and hidden gems, some of which are 100+ years old.
We will explore the city of Madrid from a gastronomic perspective and experience tapas culture, by learning the local ways of socializing, dining out and how to enjoy the Madrileño way of eating Spanish appetizers and drinking local wines and aperitifs like vermú and sangría, along with these tasty treats with local residents.
