Hello, this is Yumiko!! I am a licensed interpreter and guide.
I welcome you all from all over the world.
I myself love traveling and so I understand what travelers want.
I also want to be flexible on your request. I am friendly and enjoy meeting people.
My major subjects are Art and History.
There are plenty of wonderful places to visit in my area Kansai, which has major historic cities and offers you many choices to explore. (experience culture like kimono, cooking, fragrance making, Sake factory, etc...)
I grew up in Nara, an ancient capital in Japan, and Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe are my backyard.
I studied Art in Polytechnic UK, lived in Hong Kong for 4 years and in the USA for 13 years.
Therefore now I understand the charm of Japan more than before.
I have numbers of experience taking Americans, Malaysian Chinese, and Italian to Kyoto, Nara, Hyogo, and Hokkaido.
I am ready to guide you anywhere you want!
For a trip to any city in Japan, I am available if you ask me in advance and cover my transportation fee.
For cruising trip, if there isn't enough time to stay on the port, I may not be able to take your request.
Yumiko was amazing with us yesterday at Kyoto. Towing 4 young kids and she was very patient in letting us take our time calming the kids, feeding them , bathroom breaks and taking numerous pictures. She also gave us lots of information for us to use the next day. She is very lovely and knowledgeable about Kyoto. We enjoyed our day. Thank you so much Yumiko.
Thank you for your good review. I hope you will enjoy the rest of your stay in Kyoto. Yumiko
We had a wonderful day in Nara with Yumiko. We saw everything we wanted to see - and made a number of special stops, such as an old Japanese house and a sake bar. We learned so much more than you can get in a guidebook. But more importantly, we got to know a bit about Yumiko herself and life Japan.
Thank you. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan. Yumiko
Yumiko was an EXCELLENT guide! She provided terrific insight into the long history of Nara in a clear and concise manner. I found her explanation of the difference between various temples and shrines to be very informative. In addition, her knowledge of Japanese sake and its origin was especially interesting. She took me to a sake shop which was very educational as I could sample several types of sake unique to Nara. She’s also very knowledgeable of the local delicacies that Nara is famous for. Her fluency in English made it super easy to understand. Thanks Yumiko-san!
Hi Glenn, Thanks for your good review. I enjoyed your company. I also appreciate you share your knowledge about Nanba area. Yumiko
My family and I had a wonderful day in Kyoto thanks to Yumiko. She was very knowledgeable, caring, charismatic, and fluent in english. We did our research, I let her know where we wanted to visit and she set up the most efficient route for us, saving us a lot of time. After the tour, she gave us a hand written list of places that she suggested to research and go if interested. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to take a tour of kyoto.
