Hello I’m Mike, a national licensed tour guide from Kyoto.
Meeting with people is a gift of God for me.
A new encounter inspires and enriches my heart.
People sometimes ask me unexpected questions I can’t answer on the spot.
It is the moment when I I am frozen.
Indeed, guiding people is like a thrilling, adventurous journey.
I would like to offer a memorable journey to you.
I retired from work as a teacher at senior high school and then started this job in 2015.
I’m familiar with Japanese history, culture, religion and architecture.
My guide areas are mainly Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. But as a national tour guide, I guide around Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Wakayama, Shirakawago, and Takayama.
Feel free to ask me anything.
I can guide you in Hiroshima, Okayama, Kagawa, Nagoya and Takayama if you pay my transportation fee.
I don’t think we would have appreciated Kyoto without Masaki. He really helped us understand the history and the importance of Kyoto to the rest of Japan. Besides being very informative, he was extremely flexible and caring We were a rough crowd of five different personalities and ages from the United States and he was able to keep our attention and make sure that we got what we needed from the trip. If there was a downside at all, it would be that we spent a lot of time on buses and trains. I don’t know if the transportation we took wasn’t the best option available, But it seems like it would’ve been less wear and tear had we been in a van.
Misaki is a very warm and considerate guide. Most importantly, he provided us with very useful information which greatly enhanced our time with him
I simply can not say enough about Masaki and his skill as a tour guide. Not in a million years would we had been able to see so many beautiful sights in Kyoto without his ability to move us from place to place, purchasing entry tickets without hassle but also knowing the fastest ways in & out plus the timing of our arrivals & exits were spot on. Masaki & Steve had quite a long conversation about the Samari rock garden & breathing that we have continued to reflect upon. We also did some off the beaten path places that I loved but the absolute topper on Masaki’s resume was after the tour when I received 100 photos he took of us in Kyoto with his own camera. And may I say they are not only excellent photos but ones that I will treasure forever. I’m grateful for his touring skills & leading us expertly to the many treasures of Kyoto! We highly recommend Masaki. Kelly & Steve

Masaki was Awesome! He really lets us absorb and learn so much culture from our day in Hiroshima and Miyajima. My family really loved our time with Masaki and he was very enjoyable and easy to work with. Thanks Masaki for an enjoyable time!
Hi Trisha, Thank you for a wonderful review. Yes, it was a great day for me, too. I had some first experiences. Relaxed time and leisurely tours made me forget the time passing. Thank you again for sharing precious time with your family. Good luck in Japan!! Masaki
