About Tour Guide Akiko O.
My name is Akiko, national licensed English-speaking tour guide. I'd be happy to help you in your adventure in Japan. I love traveling myself, and I actually traveled extensively in the world and also within Japan. I am interested in history, archaeology, and culture. So I believe I can be good company as well while being your guide. I love to meet new people because there is always something new to learn from them. And I enjoy learning new things.
I was born and raised in the city of Hachinohe in Aomori Prefecture which is located in the northern tip of the main island Honshu in Japan. I lived in Tokyo and worked with Americans for 30 years, and recently moved back to my hometown where I belong.
I can offer you a tour in Akita and Iwate as well. There are so many interesting destinations in Japan. Please come and visit Tohoku (northern Japan) where you can enjoy Japanese real local life and people. Looking forward to meeting you soon!

“Wonderful Trip!!!”
Akiko was amazing -- she customized this trip for my client and despite flooding made arrangements for her to see everything she wanted to see. She made special arrangements for her to see a shrine (the main purpose of the trip ) when the road was closed and the shrine was closed - she got her in anyway!! Per my client - she was worth every yen!! Thanks for making the a special trip.

Akiko ran an excellent tour with everything very well organised, with plenty of useful material to help along the way. Akiko went above and beyond in identifying excellent additional places we could visit along the way. Akiko has exceptional knowledge of the local area and history, and was able to communicate this very effectively in English and help translate as needed.
