Tour Description – Berat City & Castle Tour (3 Hours)
Join me on a 3-hour guided tour through the charming city of Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage site. During this experience, we will explore both the historic city and the famous Berat Castle.
The tour includes:
A walk through the old neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica
Detailed explanations about the city’s history, culture, and architecture
A guided visit inside Berat Castle.
Visits to key viewpoints and hidden gems within the city.

Meeting Point
Banka Kombëtare Tregtare (BKT) Bank
- The meeting point is near the BKT Bank, located in the city center. This is the main square of the city, easily recognizable and accessible, with an underground parking area available nearby. The tour will begin in the city center, where we will provide an overview of its history. From there, you will have the opportunity to see both a church and a mosque, reflecting the city’s rich cultural heritage. We will then continue our walk along the boulevard, heading towards the historic neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica.
Gorica Bridge
We will take a walk towards the Gorica Bridge, a historic bridge that played an important strategic role at the time it was built. On the way, you will have the opportunity to admire both sides of the old city—the charming Mangalem Quarter and the picturesque Gorica Quarter—each showcasing the unique character of Berat’s heritage.
The tour begins in the city, where we visit several of its most important landmarks, and this part takes approximately 1 hour.
Castel
After that, we will visit the Berat Castle, where we will have the opportunity to see at least two churches and two mosques from the outside. The castle is also home to one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the city, known as Tabja Viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of Berat.
The ascent to the castle is done on foot and takes place along a slightly steep path, which can be a bit challenging at times.
Combined with the visit inside, the entire experience lasts approximately 2 hours. During this time, visitors can enjoy a scenic walk uphill, explore the historic surroundings, and take in some of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city.
