Elegant simplicity
Histolically speaking, the prototype of Japanese-style room, which is still available to us, originated in the Muromachi period(1336-1573). The oldest example of them is Dojinsai in Jishoji Temple in Kyoto which was built in 1486 and remains intact. The Japanese-style room in the photo above is the old house in Edo Tokyo Tatemonoen where is my tour's main destination(the name: The western part of Tokyo).
