We will meet in front of the museum (Krisjana Valdemara iela side) to start our itinerary towards the Quiet District, while contemplating major Art Nouveau buildings along Elizabetes iela.
Alternatively called the “Art Nouveau District”, this small quarter in central Riga is widely known for its surreal architecture which decorates many of the street buildings around the area. We will walk along Alberta iela to take our first pictures of the photoshoot, before visiting the iconic Art Noveau Museum.
We will stop for a 30min coffee break before departing towards Old Riga.
We will meet again in front of the Art Nouveau Museum to continue with our photoshoot-tour on the way to Old Riga, passing by the beautiful Esplanade Park to contemplate the impressive Nativity’s Cathedral, the main Christian Orthodox church in Latvia.
Presided by the Freedom Monument, a memorial dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Latvian War of Independence, this square is the main location for public events and official ceremonies in the city. Here we'll take more travel pictures against the monument and the iconic Laima Clock, famous meeting point for both locals and tourists alike. Before diving into the Old Town we’ll make a stop at the Latvian National Opera and take more pictures around its beautiful gardens and Fountain Nymph.
This charming XIX century park built in a true Parisian style is an ideal location where to take some of the most romantic pictures of the photoshoot near the Riga's canal. We will be passing by beautiful sights like a romantic stone bridge with padlocks and a golden sculpture of a little pony before heading out towards the Old Town.
We'll walk along the Jacob's Barracks by contemplating the monumental Powder Tower (main heritage from Riga's defensive wall) until the iconic Swedish Gate, where we will take more fun pictures surrounded by true medieval vibe. From there we'll continue our itinerary towards the Latvian Parliament, while passing by the Presidential Castle along the way.
The main political institution in Latvia and seat of its Constitutional Assembly is a mixture of a neoclassical and modernist architecture that deserves to be seen. Afterwards, we'll continue to admire the Three Brothers Houses (the oldest residential complex in Riga dating back from the medieval times), where we will capture more snaps in front of their majestic facades.
Dating back from the XIII century, the monumental cathedral that presides the square is an architectonical gem that highlights the best UNESCO heritage in the Old Town of Riga. A great scenic location where to take more travel pictures while continuing our adventure in the historical Latvian capital.
Once in the Old Town Square (Ratslaukums) we'll marvel at the famous House of the Black Heads, the most iconic landmark in Riga Old Town and house of the most important events in the city. Here we will take more creative pictures around the Old Town Square before finishing before St Peter's Church, a colossal 136m church that has witnessed the city's history since the XIII century.
You will be able to enjoy authentic Latvian cuisine at any of the many cafés and restaurants nearby.
We’ll meet again in front of St. Peter's Church to continue our itinerary towards the Latvian National Library. On the way we will contemplate great views over the Old Town from the epic Stone Bridge (Akmens Tilts) until we reach the other side of Daugava River.
Built to counterbalance the skyline of medieval Old Riga, the Latvian National Library is a modern, surreal building that deserves to be seen and captured. Here we will take some more pictures before heading towards our last stop of the itinerary.
Presided by a huge country’s flag, this little urban park built is a great place wher to enjoy the best views over the Old Town skyline, including the iconic Riga’s Castle. Here we will take some postcard pictures against the iconic background of Old Riga, before heading back to the Old Town.
