To start our day, we will head to the Nativity Church. It is one of the oldest churches in the world. We will go Underneath the building where the cave or grotto, experiencing the holy place Jesus was born. Just close to the Nativity Church we will walk to see the wonderment of the Church of Milk Grotto, a Byzantine Church that was built over the Grotto in the 5th century. This is where Virgin Mary was feeding baby Jesus and a drop of milk fell on the ground and turned the stones all white.
After this experience, we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at one of the restaurants around. To taste the crisp of the falafel and hummus with local fresh vegetables.
Then, we will continue our exciting journey through the Old City of Bethlehem, exploring the ancient buildings and sites as we travel around the city.
We continue with King Herod's Palace. You will learn about the architecture and archaeology of an incredible site that has been substantially developed – the theater, magnificent staircase, and entranceway with wall paintings have been renovated. You will be astonished to learn how water was delivered to this isolated location.
We will see the remains of a tomb on the side of the mountain and a small theater where Herod entertained.
We’ll then ride to explore Shepherd’s Field. Here, the Angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds bringing them good tidings of the Birth of Jesus.
It is located about a mile (2 km.) east of Bethlehem in the Beit Sahour town. The Church of the Nativity can be seen from each site. There are also various other ruins, churches, and monasteries in the area.
We will stop by the Banksy Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem "The Worst View in the World", located next to a the high concrete separation wall.
You will see the Museum in the Banksy Hotel, the Graffiti works by Banksy in Bethlehem on the walls.
I will take you for a short walk in the Camp to see the largest key of Refugees, while we are walking it will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about the story and history of the Palestinian refugees.
