Meeting Point

Riverine resort Bududa

- We will meet you at Riverine Resort in Bududa—the closest guesthouse to the trailhead, about 7 km from the Bushiyi Trail Ranger Post—or we can pick you up from your location anywhere in the Mbale, Sipi, or Bududa area.

Shiloko Campsite

Transfer to the Bushiyi Ranger Post for registration. Begin a steady 13km ascent via Shiloko Camp where you will have lunch before proceeding to Dubbi Camp. Your professional crew (guide, ranger, cook, and porters) will manage the logistics while you enjoy the scenic mountain views

Day 2 - Dubbi Camp

After an overnight camp and rest at Dubbi Camp, you'll start your morning trek through the heather zone, leading to the final 7 km summit push. Enjoy 360° panoramic views across Uganda and Kenya from the peak.

10:30 AM

Day 3 - Wagagai Peak

After trekking for about 3 hours, you'll arrive at Mount Elgon's ultimate hiking destination: Wagagai Peak. Enjoy the summit, celebrate your achievement, then descend back to the safety of Dubi Camp or Shiroko Camp.

Hello! My name is Nabudere, a professional local tour guide from eastern Uganda and a certified guide registered with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB). I am the founder of a tour company and have more than five years of experience guiding visitors through the beautiful landscapes of Mount Elgon and other regions of Uganda.

I specialize in trekking adventures, safaris, nature walks, bird watching, cultural experiences, community walking tours and eco-tourism activities in the Mount Elgon region and in other parts of Uganda. My goal is to give travelers a safe, authentic, and unforgettable experience while exploring one of Uganda’s most unique features.

As a local guide, I have deep knowledge of the hiking trails, wildlife, waterfalls, and local cultures. I enjoy sharing the history of the Ugandan people, local traditions, and the natural beauty of the area with visitors from around the world.
