This one-day tour takes you to Mabamba Wetland for a Shoebill adventure. Travel by engine boat across Lake Victoria from Nakiwogo, then canoe through papyrus channels to spot the iconic Shoebill and other wetland birds. Includes, drinking water, and hotel pickup and drop-off in Entebbe.

1‑Day Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Tour
700:AM:
Start with an engine boat from Nakiwogo stage across Lake Victoria to Mabamba papyrus swamp shoebil spot.
800:AM:
Then join a local canoe to explore the narrow papyrus swamp channels in search of the rare Shoebill Stork and other water birds.
10:30AM:
After birding, return by canoe and connect back to the engine boat for the lake crossing back to Nakiwogo alanding site.
12:00AM:
Finally, your driver transfers you comfortably by car back to your hotel in Entebbe, you can opt to have lunch at your hotel or Andrita beach showers of lake victoria.
1:00 PM:
Optitional Botanical gardens or relax at the hotel of choice.
2:00PM:
If Botanical gardens to be done up to 4:00 pm go back to hotel and call it a day.

The best time to see the shoebill at Mabamba Swamp is early morning around 7:00 AM, especially during Uganda’s dry seasons (June–August and December–February), when water levels are lower and the bird is most active hunting lungfish, this timing maximizes visibility, calm waters, and ideal light for photography.
