Jurassic Coast Tour
Visit highlights of The Jurassic World Heritage Site. Dramatic coastal scenery, fossils, dinosaurs, smugglers, and much more. This tour includes the opportunity to walk along a short section of the South West Coastal path from Durdle Door to Lulworth Cove, a visit to Portland Heights for dramatic views along the coast and a panoramic drive along one of the most scenic routes of the UK.

Drive to Durdle Door
Durdle Door
Walk along coast path for Durdle Door to Lulworth Cove. The descent to Durdle door is optional as it can be challanging, but well worth it. The walk across the cliff tops and down into Lulworth Cove is very gentle.
Arrive at Lulworth Cove
There will be time here to visit Stair Hole, a geologicla formation, the Cove itself and have a coffee or icecream.
depart Lulworth Cove
Drive through the Dorset countryside to Weymouth, a seaside town with many buildings from the early 1800's when king George III came here on holiday, and then up to Portland Heights for a view along Chesil Beach and the Jurassic Coast.

Leave Portland
Drive west along the coast stopping at view points at Abbotsbury and West Bay. The history of the area will be explained as we go and how the geology has been used by settlers in the area from Neolithic times through to the present day.
West Bay
This is a small fishing village with dramatic coastal cliffs. Free time and opportunity for refreshments and souvenir shopping
return to Dorchester
Drive back to Dorchester passing through Prince Charles 'model village' of Poundbury on the outskirts of the town.

Tour Important Information
This tour can be adapted to suit the guests and the weather on the day. There are a number of places which can be included on the tour such as Abbotsbury Gardens, Abbotsbury Swannery, the Island of Portland or Weymouth, and these can be discussed when booking the tour. There would be an entrance fee for the Gardens and the Swannery.

I have limited availability especially as the season progresses as I often work for the cruise companies from Southampton, Portsmouth and Portland[Dorset]. I will accept bookings while those tours [usually single days] are still provisional.
