Not a tour.A feeling. We start down the Pedonale, the pedestrian heart of town, where people still greet each other by names. The scent of espresso drifts from open cafés.Than we slip into the Mangalem Quarter, where the houses climb over each other like they’re whispering secrets. But the real shift happens when you start climbing toward the castle. The higher you go, the quieter it gets not empty quiet, but full. The kind that holds history. Inside Berat Castle, you expect ruins but you find life

Meeting Point
Center of the city, Near to Cathedral Dimitri
- We will meet in the city centre, near the Cathedral of Saint Demetrius. The meeting point is opposite the Hotel Republika, very close to the entrance to the underground parking. To the north-east is the Cathedral and the Lead Mosque.
Pedonal of the City - Bachelor Mosque
The tour begins in the lively center of Berat, where tree-lined boulevards and traditional cafes set a welcoming tone. Walking south along Bulevardi Republika, visitors enjoy views of the Osumi River and the hillside houses of the Gorica quarter across the water.
As the group enters the Mangalem quarter, known as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” the historic charm of Berat comes into full view. After a short walk, the tour reaches the Bachelor’s Mosque — a small 19th-century mosque built by unmarried artisans. With its elegant porch and beautifully painted ceiling, it offers insight into the city’s Ottoman heritage and cultural harmony.
Berat Castel
After we finish taking photos in front of the Mangalem and Gorica neighborhoods at the hanging bridge in front of the Beqarve Mosque, we will move to the Medieval area where the Pasha's palaces are located (what is left of them), the King's Mosque and the Helvetite Tekke, we will climb to the Berat Castle which is a 15-minute walk. A slow walk with a beautiful panorama that leaves the city behind.
In case the group cannot walk, transportation will be provided by me.
In the castle we visit:
1. Its entrance and the first courtyard of the castle out of three.
2. We pass to Constantine Square, where there is his statue (the Head of Constantine) and three churches, which at first glance do not look like churches. There is the Church of Saint Vlaherna (13th-14th century), Saint Helen and Constantine (17th century), and the Church of Saint Kolli (16th century).
3. The Church of the Holy Trinity (13th century). Byzantine Church
4. We pass to the second courtyard of the castle, where the Acropolis is located, the highest point of the city which was previously used by the city's nobility to live there and there were shops, bars and a Mosque which was built around the end of the 18th century.
We pass from the acropolis to the road that leads to the balcony of the castle, visiting on the way
5. The Red Mosque or the Victory Mosque (late 14th century, early 15th century),
6. The Church of St. George and the Gallery Wall
7. Tabia or Panorama of the city.
We visit traditional houses of Berat - Cultural Monument of the first category
To conclude after the photos on the balcony of the Castle, we will pass through the neighborhood, in which people still live for generations in the house, we will go to visit one of them.
Typical old two-story stone houses. We will taste homemade products and see how we treat friends in our country. The expression that characterizes us is 'The Albanian's home is of God and of the Friend'
There we will taste:
1. Raki - an alcoholic drink that is produced from grapes and every house. We use it to welcome friends.
2. Berati Sausage - Typical dessert made with nuts, flour, sugar and lemon.
3. Homemade fruit and vegetable jam
4. Who wants to try traditional Berat clothes.
Ending Point
Our tour ends after we leave the house, at the entrance to the Berat Castle (If you wish to stay for lunch at the Castle). Otherwise, we will return to the city together and we will part ways together at the Medieval Zone, near the King's Mosque.
