During this day trip we will visit Tepelene fortress built by Ali Pasha Tepelena. It is visited by many notable people of the time among them the British Poet Lord Byron. The town is located on the left shore of the Vjosa River.

Gjirokaster is the next place to be visited. It is located in a valley between the Wide mountains and the Drino river valley. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, described as "a rare example of a well-preserved Ottoman town, built by farmers of large estate".
