I attended the seminar today in the midst of snowstorm, shivering with extreme coldness.
After a classroom lecture at Takatsuki (高月) community center, we moved to Kannon house of Dogan-ji temple (渡岸寺 or 向源寺), in which the masterpiece of Kannon Buddhist Statue (a National Treasure) is on display. I have seen the treasury of humankind for more than 5 times so far, but we were very lucky enough today to be able to appreciate it enough, with a very detailed explanation by a veteran volunteer guide there. Another outcome today was to get acquainted with a leading staff of the board of education of Shiga pref., who may support our activity in the future to let inbound tourists touch deep and genuine cultures of Kohoku (湖北; Northern district of Lake Biwa).
